Content Standards:
The learner realizes that information in a written text may be selected and organized to
achieve a particular purpose.
I – LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, the students are expected to:
1. Define narration/narrative as a mode of paragraph development;
2. Identify the elements of a narrative paragraph;
3. Appreciate the value of time through writing chronologically.
4. Write a narrative paragraph about their significant life experiences.
II – LEARNING CONTENT
Topic: Writing a Narrative Paragraph
1. New Knowledge
Narration tells a story to make a point. It can be used in an anecdotal,
abbreviated way to illustrate a detailed, personal account of what happened.

b. Presentation
The teacher presents the lesson objectives and introduces the topic of the
day.
2. Firm Up
Lecture Discussion
- The teacher will show the definition and the steps of writing a
narrative paragraph.
- The teacher will give a short review on the elements of a short story, in
connection with narrative writing.
- The teacher elaborates the discussion by showing more examples on
paragraph writing. He will make use of the motivational video
presented as guide in writing a narrative.
3. Generalization
- After the presentation, the teacher will ask the following questions to
the students:
1. What is a narration?
2. How are we going to write a narrative?
3. How can make use of our knowledge in narrative writing?
V – ASSIGNMENT
The students will be asked to write a narrative about their PE performance task
last week. They shall submit their narratives to their Edmodo Accounts online.
