Summary
4) Varun worked for pay TM before and currently waiting to join new firm. In Pay TM he had
worked on Movie subscriptions team and bookings using External API - they can book
movies,food and parking , an API which can be exposed to third party (Like PVR). During the
interview I had primarily focussed on three leadership principles : Earn Trust, Learn and Be
Curious, Team Fitment. Varun had showcased the maturity in all these leadership principle and
was able to provide good examples which showcases his capabilities. Overall I am inclined. I
would also like to review his coding and LLD skills during our consensus.

Varun had provided right examples with respect working as a good team player and provided
examples where he could manage different strength profiles and also where he could manage
the manager expectations during the tough project timelines. He had explained how we able to
help his team member and manage ambiguity's and helped to resolve the blockers. He has right
attitude towards work and can fit into amazon team culture.
6) Learn and Be Curious*

Varun had got opportunities to improve the performance/ latency of the movie booking using
PAYTM application and he had introduced finite cache to get the upto date seats availability
while booking. During this implementation he had worked with team to understand, learn the
domain & current problems and then provided the solution. Good learning skills and eager to
own the tasks and drive them from end to end perspective.

Varun took an initiation to figure out the current bottleneck on the IDE used by their team and
he did come up with proposal to his leadership and explain how new IDE will help the
developers while making the deployment and also avoid the bounce. During this interactions
with leadership he was methodical to provide the details and this helped him to gain the trust
from leadership. He followed team by team migration approach and made sure teams adhered
to the new IDE and had shown the consistency.
