School Mission

My name is Eman Towfik-Teems. This is my 7th year teaching and my 2nd year in first grade. I am
grateful because there is so much I enjoy about being a teacher and I feel grateful to be part of such
a wonderful school like Heards Ferry Elementary! I can't wait to meet my new first grade recruits! I
am looking forward to a year of learning, fun and adventures!

I was born in San Francisco but moved to Georgia when I was young. I went to college at KSU and
received my B.S. in Education in 2012. In previous years, I have taught Pre-K and Kindergarten in
Fulton County Schools. I live in Kennesaw, GA with my husband and my 2 cats.

This year will be a year of countless milestones for the students and I’m excited to watch them bloom
as a friend, reader, writer, mathematician, scientist, thinker and so much more!

Attendance & Transportation
• Attendance:
There is an award at the end of the year for perfect attendance. It is important that
your child be in school as much as possible. Please make it priority.
• Absences:
A written note or email must be provided no later than 5 days to excuse an absence (Ex:
medical or religious)
• Tardies:
School will contact you after 5 unexcused tardies. The social worker will give you a call at
10.
• Transportation:
Please provide written notices of transportation changes. (This ensures that if a sub is in
the classroom, he/she will be aware of the change for that day and get your child.) home
