B. CONTENT STANDARD: Understand Basketball by synthesizing and applying prior knowledge.
C. PERFORMANCE STANDARD: Demonstrate skills in Basketball
D. LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Discuss the relations of the different words and numbers used in Basketball.
b. Create different outputs that show your understanding with the sport.
c. Participate in the different activities given about Basketball.
d. Value the importance of camaraderie of playing Basketball to apply it in socializing and
have a positive relationship with others.

Group yourselves into 2. What you’re going to do is to
pass the crumpled paper from the start of the line to the
end of it. When it is in the end, the player at the end will
have to shoot it at the pale. The team who finish first will
be the winner. Did you get my instructions?
The students will do the activity.

B. LESSON PROPER
1. Activity
I have here a ball. What you’re going to do is to pass the
ball while there is Music. But when the music stops, the
ball should also stop. The one who has the ball when it
stops should pick a strip of paper and act/describe the
word on it. Understood?
The students will do the activity.
Excellent!

2. Analysis
What have you notice with our activity?
The students will respond to the question.
During our activity, all must participate and do their job
and to successfully accomplish the task, we must have
teamwork in the Team Sport. And today, we’ll discuss
the team sport that is considered as the most popular
sport in the world. Do you know the sport I’m talking
about?
It is Basketball, Ma’am.

3. Abstraction
Basketball is the team sport that is one of the most
popular and widely viewed sports in the world. What is
the objective of the game? The objective of the game is to shoot the ball
through a basket horizontally positioned to score
points while following a set of rules.

4. Rebounding
5. Running

you’re going to do is to describe or give any ideas about

4. Application
Lecture-Discussion (Group Quiz)
Group your class into three. Each group will be given a
set of ten (10) terms about basketball on strips of paper.
Each group must write the description or idea about the
term of the strips they have. Write your answer on the
paper that I will give to you.

The students will do the activity.


IV. Evaluation
Pick, Shoot, and Answer!
With the same group, each group will be provided a
bowl containing numbered paper strips with written
questions related to basketball. The groups will
assemble in columns facing the blackboard about three
meters away. A basket will be placed near the board.
When the “go” signal is given, the last member on the
line will pick a strip of paper and answer the question.
Then, write the answer on the same paper and pass it
forward to his/her teammate. The member who’s the
last one to be passed on will have to shoot the paper on
the basket to earn the point. The group with the most
scores will be graded with 20, second will be 18, third
with 16, and the last will be 14. Is that clear?
The students will do the activity.

V. Assignment
Using you creativity, create a poster/slogan/yell/poem that shows your understanding about
Basketball and its importance.
