This course is designed to improve your performance skills in a traditional  Texts supplied by professor.

instrument of choice in a self-guided fashion, and receive feedback from your

Course Structure
You will perform two solo pieces of music in front of the class, and one piece as
an ensemble. This can be as a musician, singer, or composer. You will sign up
for performance opportunities, but the Professor will determine the ultimate
schedule. At the end of the quarter, each of you will perform at least one of

Attendance and Participation: 15%
Critique Journal: 25%
A Note before we begin… Concert Performance: 25%
We are all family here. Some of us are well trained musicians with years of Paper: 35%
experience, and others have nothing more than a great love for music combined
with a little ambition. Be gentle in your criticism. That being said, criticism TOTAL 100%
should be honest and with the goal of development in mind, so give out real
notes for improvement to help your colleagues.
