 SAINT ECCE HOMO

In 2007, the monument of Saint Ecce Homo was planned by the engineer
Francisco Fuentes Acosta. It symbolizes the devotion and fervor of the
valduparenses to their miraculous saint. It monument had been designed by the
sculptor Héctor Lombana before his death. In Las Antenas mountain was built
the Saint Ecce Homo and It’s 35 meters high.

This monument has many similarities with Christ the Redeemer from Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil. Both are representative symbols of the Christian faith, their high
is similar and they are visited by many tourists specially believers in Holly Week.

In 2009, two years later, Saint Ecce Homo was inaugurated and every Holy Monday a parade is made
at Álfonso López square in honor of their patron saint.
