 Growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ
A good way to grow in your relationship with Jesus is to
read and ponder who Jesus is and what He has done for
us. Reading through the Catechism of the Catholic
Church, 15 minutes per day, 5 days a week is a great way
to do this. Those who sign up will receive an email with
the schedule for the upcoming two weeks. We begin
Monday, Sept. 16th and end mid-June with a week off for
Thanksgiving and two weeks off for Christmas. If you
are interested, send an email to Ann Lankford, Director
for Catechesis and Evangelization at

the subject line. Every year, over 100 people participate.

Dear Friends,
My weekend here in my home parish was very heart
warming and encouraging. Your love and generosity
not only mean a lot to me but to all of the people that
you continue to help by supporting me in my efforts
to continue to develop and improve Songambele Hos-
pital. My sincere and grateful thanks to all of you who
have helped me help others for so many many years.
I still have an education program for students who
need help but fewer students than in former years. I
can not longer afford to do road work. With a staff of
63 medical personnel the hospital is up and running
and saving lives, especially those of mothers and chil-
dren. In a 12 month period our doctors did 220
c-sections as well as 90 various major operations. Over
1500 patients were treated in our minor theater. In a
12 month period nearly 15,000 patients received care
in Songambele Hospital. Your continued help is ap-
preciated and necessary. Building and operating a first
class hospital is the greatest challenge I have faced in
my 59 years of missionary work. With your help we
will meet the challenge that God has given us. It is
His work and He will accomplish it according to His
will.
I look forward to celebrating with you my 60th anni-
versary of ordination on 13 Sept. 2020 at the 10 a.m.

 Regarding the upcoming Confirmation
Program this year; Monsignor Stoetzel would
like to have a meeting with the students and
at least one parent on Wednesday, September
4th, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall
at St. John’s. This is a mandatory meeting as
there is a lot of information to pass on and
we want to make sure everyone understands
the Confirmation Program and process. If
students or parents have any questions please
contact Mary Stoeffler.
Unit Chairpeople for the months of July
through December….You should have received
your unit lists in preparation for the Fall Bazaar
in the mail last week. If you have any questions
please contact Linda Moser at 874-4682.
There has been a change of time for our next
Bazaar planning meeting. We will meet at 5:00
pm on Monday Sept. 9th instead of 6:00 pm.
The meeting is for the July - December unit chair-
people and chairpersons of the dinner, supper &
carry-outs and anyone else who would like to help
with the Fall Bazaar.
Men of the Cross Conference
This year’s theme is “The Father’s Way.” A special
rate is being offered for Father-Son attendees. The
conference will be held in La Crosse on Saturday,
October 26, and sure to engage men of all ages.
