The definition of science to me would be a practical and visually receptive idea on

why things are the way they are. This will be included with the standard way to test

science which is hypothesis first step and conclusion for the last step.

Pseudo science is what people have convinced themselves and others to believe and

usually are authority figures so for them to be questioned and tested would be rare. Their

theories are only proven in a minimal setting and do no always have the same results.

Science is something that can be proven and supported by either events or experiments.

Science is all data and is detailed and can be proven with the same conclusions time and time

again.

The similarites is that they both start off as beliefs until proven to be falsified.

Pseudo science would be hair growth pills, diet pills and old wives tales that prove what

the sex of the baby is before it is born. Science on the other hand is blood tests to see what your

baby is before you have it, hair implants that will show and stay in your hair, and liposuction to

lose that extra weight. All of these have been tested and used by people in their daily lives.

The best way to distinct between pseudo science and science is stated in the article

What is Pseudo Science by Michael Shermer which he states, "If a community of scientists

actively adopts a new idea and if that idea then spreads through the field and is incorporated

into research that produces useful knowledge reflected in presentations, publications, and

especially new lines of inquiry and research, chances are it is science." In lamest terms this is an
idea that someone creates and if tested and it does not fail get others to agree with you by

testing what hypotheses you may have and that is how you gain followers and people will side

with you and believe you.
