Hello all I am new in forum, this is my first post.

I would like to kindly ask You for check

and give me some hints of my motivation letter for PhD at Eindhoven TU. That is not
normal PhD studies, it is strongly connected to chemical industry sector. Thank You in
advance for any help! Cheers!

Motivational letter

15 December 2016

Dear Sir / Madam

I am writing to apply for Professional Engineering Doctorate position at the Chemical

Engineering and Chemistry department, Eindhoven University of Technology.

In 2013 I received my Master of Science degree in Industrial and engineering chemistry,

process engineering specialization with top grades, placing me in top 3 in my year. At
present I am working as a Design engineer at XXX in Poland, where I became fascinated
in chemical and pharmaceutical plant design.

During my engineering studies I learned a lot about green process engineering among
heavy chemical industry. In 2012 my story with multicultural meetings was started by
BIOCEN 2012, what was performed in Tampere, Finland, where I used to be a leader of
one multicultural team, performing assessment about alternative energy resources from
cellulose. We achieve second place in competition. Turning back to Poland I decided to
perform my Master thesis in mathematical modeling of reactors, so I started to learn
programming in freeware software (SciLAB). Finally in 2013 I ended all courses with GPA
4.84/5 and final grade 5 with honors.

In 2014 I used to be a student also at Economy University, where I was selected as an

Erasmus exchange student at University of Applied sciences in Vienna, at Quantitative
asset and risk management studies. I strengthen my theoretical knowledge on
mathematical and qualitative way of business management, and combine it with my
engineering experience. Moreover I met people from all over the Europe and world with
different cultures and backgrounds. I found this experience personally and
professionally rewarding because, comparing our outlook for the future, I have a deeper
understanding about business, and finally engineering in economical way. Finally it take
me to defense the thesis in Finance and Accounting in Katowice.

Going to more designing subject, espcially connected with nautre, as 3 studies I was
selected for Environmental engineering, with specialization of Sanitary Engineering. I
decided to go for that studies, because of strong cooperation with civil and sanitary
engineers, that I need to understand for proper design. As a process engineer, I need to
take other point of view, and understand that not only chemistry is among as. Living
creatures are extremely helpful for sewage water treatment for instance. That faculty
gives me better understanding of biological processes in chemistry world.

Fortunately during my chemical engineering studies I have met professor XXX , with
whom I cooperating till present day. We started with publications of his and mine work
about reverse flow reactors, especially focusing on the theoretical mechanism within,
and trying to describe that in mathematical way. I am learning a lot of mathematical
modeling as well as numerical method that helps in solving of sets of differential
equations. During meetings and work I sharpened my critical thinking and programming
activities.

Despite my education, I am constantly working as professional engineer. Starting in

2014 in XXX Poland, I develop myself as a junior mechanical engineer, but not just at the
desk, but also on the site where I manage small parts of projects (central vacuuming
installations) and setting goal of mine to do it the best I can. Within group I also
cooperate with chemical technology division, to properly interpret ATEX directive, and
estimate hazardous and explosion areas. That work give me a very good insight of
building process as well as safety design of apparatus, and its nearby space.

In next year I changed work to workshop design, to get knowledge about design and
technological design of chemical, diary and pharma industry apparatus. I used to be
responsible for all process, starting from the design, under proper conditions (given by
customer) , through welding and manufacturing technology, till the notified body
certification and customer audit. Together with other engineers, we develop API
(Advanced Production Integration) and Lean development for improve of the
production activities and time management, starting from design apparatus
automations. During that extensive year I understood that designing is that what I
would like to do. That experience gives me a lot of knowledge about chemical process
industry and apparatus production, pathway of certifications, finally imagination and
understanding form idea to start-up of process.

My present work is within XX in Gliwice, where my position is Design Engineer in Piping

Department. Mainly I constantly optimize plant layout with my more experienced
colleges that gives me a lot of crucial ideas, and good manner of chemical plant design.
I am involved in two confidential projects, that one is focusing on advanced
manufacturing and life and biosciences to batch producing of light pharmaceuticals, and
second is constant production of therapeutics that are used for chemotherapy in cancer
treatment. Despite designing of industrial plants, I was selected for being power user,
and future Discipline Application Specialist (DAS) in area of Autodesk products, where I
mainly setting up and automate all project activities at workforce.

I have carefully assessed my options about the future too. The advancements within
chemical industry made in the fields of designing and process development in particular
attracted my attention, making me curious about the new avenues opening up in
chemical industry. Nowadays people need a solutions for day to day problems, which
were solved by scientist with cooperation with engineers that are turn science from
religion to facts. Most countries and large companies around the globe have already
started doing massive investments in dedicated research and I am positive this will
boost the labour market, soon there will be a need for new, young engineers to lead us
into this new era of chemistry and product development. When this happens, I want to
be a part of this industrial revolution.

This is why I think a Professional Engineering Doctorate in Product and Process

Development at Eindhoven University of Technology would be the right choice for me
now and an excellent boost in building a future career as a industrial designer. I feel a
highly analytical yet creative mind like mine, joined with my natural tendency for
thinking outside the box, would be perfectly suited for finding solutions for arising
challenges in engineering wat, and I am also confident that studying and working with
similar people from all over the world under the guidance of top scholars would inspire
me to develop myself both personally and professionally.

In 10-15 years from now, I imagine myself working at the project as manager and also,
conducting technical supervision on the advanced manufacturing processes with other
people with the same passion of mine.

Thank you for considering my application for given position.

Your faithfully

Dear Sirs, Madams,

I was very glad when I saw this particular opportunity to apply for a Master program in
Mechanical Engineering and with this letter I would like to express my strong motivation
for this master course. I am a graduate of the University Of Szeged, Hungary holding
BSc degree in Mechanical engineering.

I have graduated with honors at University of Szeged where I was able to get a solid
knowledge in the field. At the moment I am doing my internship in Big Corp, where I am
learning in practice how to apply methods for advanced component and structure
dimensioning, which was the topic of my Bachelor thesis. Thanks to this particular
experience I was able to perceive the complexity of this field, and to realize that I would
like to develop my career in this area. Beside application of structure dimensioning, I
hold especial interest in the digital design – both Computer aided design and computer
aided engineering, and I would like to do specialization in this particular area.

After careful overview of the master program you are offering with at your University, I
believe that curricula fully suits my intentions, and therefore I would like to get an
opportunity to attend this program.

Due to my financial situation I was able to continue my studies in my country or abroad,

since I am not in a position to finance my studies. Therefore, I will be very grateful to be
provided with scholarship to improve my education and incent my career prospects.
Knowledge gained on the studies at your University I see as an extraordinary career
opportunity, and therefore I would be very glad if you could support my education with
scholarship and to further inform me about any scholarship opportunity that may
appear.

At the end I would like to point out that I am determined to make the most of this
opportunity. I believe that being a student in your department would not only empower
my career development, but would give me the framework to utilize my full potentials.
Moreover I feel that as a Masters student at your University, I can benefit from the
numerous challenging career opportunities.

Once again I am grateful for considering my application and I look forward to a

favorable reply.

Sincerely,
