Program MAED-MATH
Proposed Topic/Title Correlational Study: The Achievement in Mathematics of
the Graduates of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics vis-à-vis their achievement in Mathematics in the Modern World Motivation of the researcher
The difficulty of giving a similar instruction to a
heterogenous group poses a challenge to the instruction. Research Gap This study wants to find out if the students’ achievement in Mathematics from the STEM TRACK is related to their performance in Mathematics in the Modern World.
Outcomes of this research may be used to strengthen the
basic education curriculum of the senior high school. The findings may make way for universities in the development of new curriculum or may add elective courses that are innovative and needed by the students to fill any vacuum of learning. Statement of the Problem 1. What is the relationship between the students’ achievement in the Mathematics subject of the STEM TRACK to their achievement in Mathematics in the Modern world? 2.What is the relationship between the students’ average achievement in the STEM TRACK to their grade in Mathematics in the Modern World?
Research Design The correlational research design utilizing documentary
analysis will be employed. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient will be used to determine the correlation between the students’ achievement of Mathematics in the ALS program and their performance in the subject, Mathematics in the Modern World in the General education course of freshmen students.
Respondents/ Participants The respondents / participants will be the ALS graduates
enrolled as freshmen students of Mathematics in the Modern World in DHVSU Mexico campus.
