LITERACY focus standards MATH focus standard

CCSS: RL1.3 Students will describe
setting, characters, and major events in a
story using key details.
We use a “Retell Rope” to identify and describe a
story’s setting, characters, problem, major events from
the beginning, middle, end, and the solution. Students
should be able to orally tell you about these story
elements.
Standards for Mathematical Practice #2
Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
Mathematically proficient students make sense of
quantities and their relationships. They decontextualize
the problem and represent it symbolically.

 Butter Braid fundraiser information packet went
home last Friday. Orders are due 9/12.
 Begin routine of reading for 15 minutes each
night, and fill-in star chart in yellow folder.
 Home and Back (yellow) folders are one of our
communication tools. Please have your student
 Remember PTO t-shirt and hoodie pre-orders are
due by Friday, September 20th.
