LESSON TWO: GOAL SETTING

DAILY GOAL-SETTING EXERCISE

This exercise is intended for your personal use only. No one else will see what
you write, so please answer the questions as completely, sincerely and honestly
as you can, in order to establish the best beginning for your manifestation
practices. .

1. What Is Your Manifestation Goal?

Your goal should encompass the big picture – what is it that you most want to
manifest in your life? You will be reviewing this goal twice daily, and you will be
using it in your chanting, meditating, visualization, and affirmation practices.

Even though your goal encompasses the big picture, keep your answers simple
and concise.

EXAMPLES:

You may want to consider your financial situation, your relationships, your job,
your home, your car, or your health, as you write up your goal. Your goal can be
anything you want to manifest in your life. Some sample goals could be:

 My goal is to change the following physical body trait:

 My goal is a spiritual one, to seek peace, fulfillment, and enlightenment.

PLEASE NOTE: These are sample goals only. Feel free to come up with goals
that fit your specific situation.

2. Now that you’ve stated your manifestation goal, let’s break it down into
manageable pieces that you can accomplish in smaller steps.

It is possible that your goal might manifest effortlessly — that would indeed be
great — but it doesn’t happen all the time. Having smaller goals will help you
stay focused on the big picture and continue taking necessary action steps
towards you goal on a regular basis.

EXAMPLES:

These smaller steps towards your larger goal can be something you want to
accomplish in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or even a year.

 My goal is to lose 10 pounds this month, and each succeeding month,


until I lose a total of 60 pounds.
 My goal is to volunteer at three new agencies this month to see what type
of organization I would like to permanently assist, on a part-time or full-
time basis.
 My goal is to set aside enough money each month so that I can put a
down payment on a new car in three months.
 My goal is to increase my monthly income each month for the next 6
months, until I reach my goal of an income that has increased to $5000 a
month.
 My goal is to visit 5 homes up for sale each week, to get a better idea of
the type of home I would like to buy and to see what is available in my
community.
 My goal is to meditate for half an hour, morning and evening, every day for
a month, to get into the habit of a daily meditation routine.
 My goal is to start my own business within the next 6 months and quit my
current job within the next 12 months.

State the goal(s) in a clear and concise manner. It’s best to only have 1-3 goals
at a time. As you achieve these goals, you can replace them with new ones.

3. Now that you have set your goal(s), imagine what your life will be like
when you achieve the goal(s).

Allowing yourself to conceptualize your new life once you attain a goal will help
you bring it into reality. Your senses and imagination play a key role in the
manifestation process.

EXAMPLES:

Use your senses and allow yourself to imagine how your goal feels, sounds,
looks, smells, and/or tastes.

 What does it feel like to be in a body that weighs 10 pounds less?


 What sounds do you hear and sights do you see when you are working at
your volunteer agencies?
 What does it feel like/smell like to drive your new car? (Imagine the feel of
new leather seats or having more space for your kids or the power of the
acceleration or that wonderful new car smell!)
 What do you see from the window of your new home?
 How do you feel while you are meditating in the morning and evening?
How do you feel during the day when you meditate regularly?

4. The final step is to take action daily.

Revisit this exercise each day. In a short phrase or even one word, write 1-3
goal(s) for today that will help you stay on track with the big picture.

Writing your goal(s) down on paper is a great way to bring your thoughts and
dreams into the physical world. It also helps you connect with the feelings and
themes you expressed in the answers above.
