CHAPTER 3

This chapter represents the research design, the sources of data, population,

data gathering techniques and the instrument that was used. The data gathering

procedure and the statistical treatment of data was also discussed.

METHODOLOGY

Method of Research

This study is a quantitative research which will use the phenomenological

approach in descriptive method that serves as the research method. It is a research

method that uses to describe how human beings experience a certain trend and

phenomenon. A phenomenological approach attempts to set aside biases and

preconceived assumptions about human experiences, feelings, and responses to a

particular phenomenon. It determined how the respondents experience that is

connected to the topic. It also explained the opinions and sides of the respondents on

the social media world specially in posting shit post that was needed in the research

study.

This research method was used in this study by conducting survey

questionnaires.

The respondents of this study will be the students that was active in social media

specifically in facebook, especially those who are Senior High School Students in the

Camarines Norte School of Law, Arts, and Sciences Inc. that engage in shit posting on

social media . The random sampling will be use since random sampling is a subset of a

statistical population in which each member of the subset has an equal probability of

being chosen. A simple random sample is meant to be an unbiased representation of a

group.( Hayes, 2019)

The target respondent for this study was all the students of Senior High School

students of Camarines Norte School of Law, Arts, and Sciences Inc. selected by the

researchers based on the following conditions: 1) Must be a student of Camarines Norte

School of Law, Arts, and Sciences Inc. Academic Year 2019-2020; 2) Must be a Senior

High School student of Camarines Norte School of Law, Arts, and Sciences Inc.; 3)

Actively engaging in social media specifically using facebook. The respondents of the

study was the primary source of information which will help the researchers to

understand the effects of Shit posting in the Senior High School Students’ Social

interaction.
 These respondents had the first-hand experience and knowledge necessary in

assessing the objectives of the study especially on determining the effects of Shit

posting in the Senior High School Students’ Social interaction.

Research Instrument

The main data gathering instrument that was used in this study is the interview

guide, based on the objectives and specific research problems on the effects of shit

posting of Senior High School students’ on how they interact on the society. The first

part of the interview aims to gather information about the personal profile of the

respondents in terms of name (optional), age, gender and grade. The second part

asked about the reasons on how the respondent response to the society specially on

thethe interaction between: Student teacher relationship, Student student relationship,

Student family relationship. The third part required the respondents to answer

questions in relation to the effects of shit posting on their social interaction. The fourth

part aimed to gather insights from the respondents as to what can be propose to lessen

the negative effects of amusing shit post on the social interaction of a students. Hence,

the respondents will provide inputs as to what programs can be propose to minimize

the effects of amusing shit post on the social interaction among students in Camarines

Norte School of Law, Arts, and Sciences Inc.

Data Gathering Procedures

In order to eliminate problems relative to time, the researchers made proper

scheduling and planning of activities that will be done by making a Gantt chart.

The main priority of the researchers is to find out the effects of shit post on the

social interaction of the Senior High School Students in Camarines Norte School of Law,

Arts, and Sciences Inc. Thus, the researchers will be conducted a surveys questionnaire

to approve this study. For the formality and permission for the researchers to conduct

this study, the researchers will write a letter; asking permission from Camarines Norte

School of Law, Arts, and Sciences Inc. This school is particularly identified as the locale

of the study. Then when it is approve, the researchers will prepare the survey

questionnaire based on the statement of the problem.

On the other hand, library research will be conducted to enable the researchers

to see how a quantitative research will be conducted. And also during the actual data

gathering; the interviews that will be conducted is the survey questionnaire, with the

respondents during their vacant periods. Responses will analyze and classified according

to themes, and then the data will be interpreted.

Data Analysis Procedure

To analyze the data of the study the researchers will classified and arranged the

data type used. This method of analyzing the data determined the shape of

interpretations and conclusion that will be draw from the analysis.
