Dear Friend,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I hope you
had a beautiful summer. Someone told us a few weeks back that nothing in this
life is perfect. The only One perfect is the Lord! As a matter of fact even He said
once, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world" (John 16:33). And if Christ dwells in your heart by faith
through the Spirit, then you have One who has overcome everything living
within you!
There is a beautiful verse of Scripture in Isaiah 44 that says, "Fear not...
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry
ground..." There is an unquenchable thirst in the depths of humanity to know
where we came from, who we are, and where we are going. People try all sorts
of things to satisfy that missing part of their lives. Some think it is in social
activities. They may think if they can get involved in entertainment and make
others happy that will fulfill them. Some believe if they identify with something
or someone different that will be the answer to their missing part. Others get
totally frustrated with life and lash out at others. Some try to fill that place with
alcohol, drugs, or other pleasures in the world. Once you travel those avenues
you discover it is not on a social plane, but what you are lacking is in the realm
of the spirit. The Bile says, "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration
of the Almighty giveth them understanding" (Job 32:8). You will never
escape this fact. We were made in the image and likeness of God in the
beginning. We may have lost the image of His character through our
disobedience, but we are still like Him in that we have these unchangeable
characteristics: the capacity to have a spiritual experience and live an
overcoming life with our Creator. Our thirst for the knowledge of God cannot be
satisfied by any other means than knowing who He is.
While still in the Garden of Eden, Adam had fellowship with the Lord "in
the cool of the day." He had an intimate knowledge of the Lord because they
spoke to each other every day. The Lord Jesus restored that fellowship when He
died on the cross and rose from the dead! He made it possible for us to have
access into that place of divine friendship.
There is an old song that says, "Shut in with God in the secret place; There
in the Spirit beholding His face; Finding new power to run in life's race; I long
to be shut in with God." Do you long for that secret place with the Lord? Or does
it even matter any more? To be shut in with God, just you and Him together,
where you share your innermost thoughts, desires, and questions, and He shares
with you the answers, peace, and everlasting love. It is a place where He makes
His Word come alive for you through the Spirit: just the two of you. Knowing
Almighty God hears your petitions gives great assurance, great peace. You know
everything is going to be alright when you've had that time alone with Him. He
becomes your confidence to face the things before you. You know you are not
alone. He brings you into a place where you realize nothing you faced in life was
in vain. You can have silver and gold, wealth beyond human ability to spend it
all, and yet miss the true riches that only the Lord Jesus Christ can give.
Let today be the day you enter that secret place of the Most High God. The
Scripture says, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (Psalm 91:1). He must be very close
if we are abiding under His shadow! May God bless you more abundantly!
If you don't have a church I invite you to ours. Our schedule of services is
Sunday at 10 am and 7 pm, and Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
