Design of Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) for waiter Tip

For designing a FIS to determine waiter tip various parameters like input like ambiance,
quality of service, and quality of food are taken under consideration. Following steps shows
the designing and results of the FIS.

STEP 1: Selecting input and output variables.

STEP 2: Selecting fuzzy values and deciding membership function of various inputs.

STEP 2.1: Ambiance

STEP 3: Selecting fuzzy values and deciding membership function of output (Tip).

STEP 4: Defining If-Then Rules.


STEP 5: De-fuzzification using Centroid Method.

STEP 6: Relationship of each input with output.
