The Government of the Republic of the Philippines considers it necessary to

state the following to the government of the Republic of China.
On March 1 of this year at 5 hours 36minutes Philippines time, a military
aircraft violated the boundary of the Republic of the Philippines and intruded across
the borders of the Republic of the Philippines. The Government of the Republic of
the Philippines naturally could not leave unpunished such a flagrant violation of the
Republic of China. When intention of the violating aircraft became apparent, it was
shot down by Philippine Rocket Troops in the area of Manila
The Republic of the Philippines sincerely like to hope that the Government of
Republic of China recognizes in the final analysis that the interests of preserving and
strengthening peace among people including the interests of the Chinese people
itself, whose striving for peace was well demonstrated during the visit of the
President of Republic of the Philippines.
