DEPEd-CSF initiates convergence on its anniversary

City of San Fernando Division through the leadership of Dr. Fatima R. Boado, CESO VI, held its 14th anniversary, with the theme “General Convergence of Teaching and Non- Teaching Personnel Cum Education Summit” at Bangbangolan National High School (BNHS) on July 5. The celebration aims to celebrate the history and humble beginnings of the education institution, forge more partnerships while strengthening relationships with other organizations and government agencies, update the different concerns in administrative, governance and curriculum implementation and acknowledge all the exemplary efforts of the different schools and employees of the division. Mr. Rodrigo Panit Jr., Principal I of BNHS, welcomed all participants as he highlighted the big transformation of his school and gives his message as the host of this special event. Dr. Diosdado I. Cayabyab, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, gave his opening remarks and he even sung the Happy Birthday Song dedicated division. “Even though your work takes your time and effort, you must do what is right” he said in the last part of his message. Mrs. Rosalina T. Villareal, Education Program Supervisor in MAPEH, delivered the history of the division. Hon. Alfred Ortega, Vice Mayor and Acting Mayor of the city, gave his gratitude to the division and he dedicated his message to all the personnel. Furthermore, with the absence of Hon. Pablo Ortega, Congressman of 1st District of La Union, Hon. Luzan O. Valero, Councilor of the city, read the message of his father to the crowd. Same also with the case of Hon. Manuel ‘Pacoy’ Ortega, Hon. Nancy Bacurnay, Board Member of the Province, delivered his speech in his absence. Meanwhile, Mr. Anthony R. Rimas, Administrative Officer III, discussed the different administrative concerns like the expanded maternity leave, different benefits and promotion for teachers. While Dr. Jose Mari P. Almeida, Chief Education Supervisor – School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), shared the changes of the different schools with regards to the physical facilities, updates to the enrolment and no. of drop outs based from Learning Information System (LIS) results. In Curriculum Implementation updates, Dr. Agnes B. Cacap, Chief Education Supervisor – CID, dispensed the different programs and activities that will be conducted by the different supervisors. In the session of Dr. Fatima R. Boado, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent, she highlighted her all the achievements and developments of the division. She also played one of her favorite songs entitled What are words by Cris Medina. After which, she related the lyrics of the song with her actions with the lines “I never left you for the past five years and I will never leave you.” She said. On the last part of the event, the different DEPEd Division officials awarded the schools and employees who did extra efforts in their fields. At least 800 participants were expected who joined the event which attended by school heads, division office personnel, secondary and elementary school teachers, pupils, students and guests.
