A Journey Towards God’s

Greatest Gift
Canlanipa Central Elementary School, a school gifted with diversity of
learners, together hand in hand, will now showcase their talents , skills, and abilities
in which God has bestowed upon them in spite of the hardships and scarcity that
they experience in life. Contents of this show are all based from the competencies in
Grades 4 to 6.

The opening scene of this biblical drama, introduces us about God’s

Masterpiece, revealing the ultimate object of his love – MAN – as he concludes the
stunning work of creation. God has at the stage. The drama has begun.

From the start, the earth was formless, empty and dark, and God spirit
moved over the waters preparing to perform God’s creative word. A day by day
account follows.

Looking back, in the beginning God made the heavens and the earth, and
while the earth was still unformed, God said, "Let there be light," and there was
light. And God saw that the light was good. Then God separated the light from the
darkness. And God called the light Day and the darkness Night. And there was an
evening and a morning, making the first day. He created the sky and called Heavens
and let divide the waters that are below from the waters that are above the sky."
And it was done. And there was an evening and a morning, making the second day.
He let plants and trees grow from the earth, bringing forth its own kind of seed and
each tree its own kind of fruit. God made two great lights, the sun to rule the day
and moon to rule the night . He let the waters bring forth many living creatures and
let birds fly above the earth and in the sky. He made all kinds of living creatures
with which the water abound. He then made a man in his own image and likeness.
and let them rule over all living things on earth. And the heavens and the earth
were finished and all that there was in them. And on the seventh day when God had
finished the work which he had done, he rested from all his work. And God blessed
the seventh day and made it holy, for in it he rested from all the work which he had

In summary, the simple truth of the creation story is that God is the author
of creation. In this showcase, we are presented with the beginning of a divine drama
that can only be examined and understood from the standpoint of faith. How long
did it take? How did it happen, exactly? No one can answer these questions
definitively. In fact, these mysteries are not the focus of the creation story. The
purpose, rather, is for moral and spiritual revelation.

God was very pleased with his creation. Six times throughout the process of
creating, God stopped, observed his handiwork and saw that it was good. On final
inspection of all that he had made, God regarded it as "very good." This is a great
time to remind ourselves that we are part of God's creation. Even when you don't
feel worthy of his pleasure, remember that God made you and is pleased with you.
You are of great worth to him.

In verse 26, God says, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness ..."
This is the only instance in the creation account that God uses the plural form to
refer to himself. It's interesting to note that this happens just as he begins to create
man.

Nowadays, we have lots of street children, They are kind of children who are
labeled as mga batang YAGIT and identified as Badjao who roam around the city
begging for food and money. If we try to look back, they are also God’s Masterpiece.
They are those children that are lost, least and needy. They look into a dwelling
place, a place where their uncertainties will be answered. Looking at them who are
innocent and very much willing to LEARN , they feel HUNGER not only for
physical aspect but in academic and THIRSTY for the knowledge and wisdom.
They really seek for comfort zone and for their dwelling place.

Now is the time to open up our hearts and minds. This a great challenge for
each one of us. For we all know that each one of us has a mission fulfill in life ; to
be stewards of His creation. Somehow, we are one of the instrument so that their
longing will be answered. Eventually, we’re so lucky enough that we are blessed
with people with a heart who willingly share their gifts with these kind of people.

All these remarkable experiences show that each one are accountable in all
His masterpiece. We are so lucky enough to have all these wonderful things. But
let’s try to look back and reflect, what happened to our environment nowadays?
We’ve faced and bombarded with so many issues; “Illegal Mining which causes
denuded forest; Global Warming; war against Maute; (Pagmamalupit sa ARAL
PAN….

Our planet is poised at the brink of a severe environmental crisis. Current

environmental problems make us vulnerable to disasters and tragedies, now and in
the future. We are I a state of planetary emergency, with environmental problems
piling up high around us. Unless we address the various issues prudently and
seriously we are surely doomed for disaster. Current environmental problems
require urgent attention.

We really need to face the reality. Now is the time to “STAND” as we say
“TAYO!
