Abstract

Social media is worldwide spreading around the world. We can should adapt the new media because we need to go
with the flow. Social Media have so many benefits to our life but it have also a bad effect to us. The Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram are just part of Social Media there are the social media site that make our learners addicted to this
sites. But not all we can also search and gather information to the Google, and other sites. Social media is connected
technology because without technology there also no social media. And through the use of technology we use tablet,
ipad, cellphone and many gadgets in a form of technology. As we all know the social media have the positive and
negative effect and also the afvantages and disadvantages. The positive effect is we can do a research by searching
in google, the negative is not all of the informarion are legit or true. The advantage is it can make our work eaaily,
we don't need to go to the library to browse the information because of technology and social media we can find
more easily. The disadvantage is people become lazy in finding information and we will get addicted that's why we
need to use it properly.

So as we onow what is social media we need first what will be the effect of it to us.

But, when it have great impact to the student social media give a distraction like facebook, instagram, twitter, and
many more site that make them harmless the power of creating the vital and classroom experience (Lauren Davis

Objective

The objective of the research are to know what is the effect of social media to education, what would be the
advantages and disadvantages. And why do we need to adapt the new media.

Conceptual framework

Social media have connection to the student and teacher to make easily gather information and easily to teach the
student in using of technology. And also discuss the positives and negatives effect, the advantages and
disadvantages of social media to the learners of the 21st century.

According to Jean Plague it focused on the learners of how to construct or create an statemenr according to their
experiences.

distraction to the learner and the student who not using technology are who are the one or can have the higher grade
that they get. In connection of William V. Gale 2016 he said that their have a negative and positive effect of social
media in Education and of course to the learners. For him the negatives of social media for him is many of yhe
student want to get the answers frok the internet instead in library. And also have the positive effect of social media
can also help the student to become a fast leaner in using of new media and also they can learn how to work as a
group. In added of Pooja Yadav 2019 is the advantage of social mediais they can find a information easily amd
contact other people of they want to contact. Also the diaadvantage is because of using media the student become
lose their confidence in face to face communication. On the other hand Perpetua O. Ezeji and Keleji E. Ezeji 2018
in using of social media it can distract the young learner to be conpetitive to other people also for education like
their social skills in communication to other. According to Raymond Owuso Boateng and Afua Amankaa 2016
the communication today is rapidly spreading changing the today's social world. The Academic life of the student
for these institution and now conyinually hoping, trying to social media technologies, to excite collaboration, and
critical thinking skils, and also knowledge construction. In addition Jodie Whopper 2018 for him now a day a
smart but difficult to convince the kids to learn the algebra and calculus or do anything with no reasons. As stated

education. For positive effect is it can facilitate online learning. It say that through the use of social media it can help

quality information. It also gain more knowledge through data gathering they can get more information from the
internet or to the goolgle. They used the various online platforms in terms of finding answer for their school works.
But not just positive as always there have the negative effect according to Dela Cruz social media will waste our
time. In addition student who addicted in uaing social media is difficult to stop and make a normal life. It can also
student in getting distraction by their gadgets and the student who always destructed by their gadgets they'we always
use their cellphone and open social media sites like Facebook, and Twitter. Let's discuss also the benefits of social

logging in social media there is the student who become less in studying than doing their assignment, project, and
task. And also using of media can take our valuable time instead of studying. According to the research of Allen
Shembilu 201 ,the Facebook,Twitter, Instagram, Wiki and other sovial media sites. It use in informal and formal
education, the usually seen. Between the age of 13 to 20 specially youngster who use the social media can change
personal information and social change. And who more intensively as a communication tools ( Halil Ibrahim

Conclusion

Socia media effect the Education through postive and negative effect and also the advantage and disadvantages od
social media in Education. We can use the social media in rigth way and make our life easily like in researching
information or gathering information that we want to find. Social Media can affect also the student and the teacher
using media tools to have new information for student and easily to give the lesson for their student. We can use
Facebook, Google and more site that can make our work easily. Social Media also have a connection with
technology because wirhout technology social media will also not created.
