this is the word in mrichchakatikam 3 act when servilaka a thief comes to charudatta’s house for robbery
these words are said in praise for his job by him
it mean's "this is the first sign of succes for skanda's son's" it is told by a thief named servilaka how can
a theif be son of skanda is there any mythology behind it ? but it is described as" skanda is patron saint of
thieves "

THE HARVARD ORIENTAL SERIES
vol 9
from the above it may be confirmed that oriental series is first published series it say skanda is only as a
patron saint but let's try more
skandaputra - in such cases "putra has the sense of a ' pupil or follower of ' here ' theives ' the devotees
of skanda , eg : bharataputra : - an actor , strangely enough skanda , the elder son of shiva , is regarded
like his mothger chandika as patron -deity of theives , resembling in this respect the grecian mercury ,
and st . nicholas of england

hindi commentaries too say the same reason

this is the first sign of success for skanda's sons{"

THE LITTLE CLAY CART
now what is first sign of success for skanda's son's , is it looking at rat's ? it may be because skanda's
brother 'ganesh' is known as remover of obstacles and a theif need it most in his robbery than any
common man in his work , rat here symbolizes ganesh , because it is his vehicle looking at the pile of dirt
removed by it is sign of success , and physically too it is sign of success because he need not to strive
th
hard to make a hole and also 12 sloka tells that escape from the sight of women is sign of victory
because women sleep does’t be brave ,they wake up fast, make noise

the story of skanda

“hara hara mahadev” hindi serial present’s quite different fact’s from that of south and its stories I think it
would be the real story of skanda since hindus have their base in “arya vartha” it is asa follows
Indra overcame by ego on kumara due to his victory over tarakasura blam’s him that if shiva has not
saved kumara by his palm and shakthi does’t gave power and also other god’s does’t cooperate to give
power kumara would not have killed tarakasura and this upset’s him and overcame by identity crisis
kumara goes away and tarakasura’s son waiting for that opportunity
he attak’s kumara who is going in grief after visiting kirtika loka where he is not identified as there son but
as commander of deva army, son of shiva . now kumara is not with his weapon , nandhi {kumara bonded
him in one place ”kshetra bhandhana” because he did not like nandhi following him} now only with stick’s
kumara kills tarakasura’s son but shiva tells it is cruel of course even god’s accept human view’s i.e what
is done for mass protection is lokahita{welfare for world “ and what is done for self protrection is krura
ahita{cruel not for welfare} kumara’s grief increases about loss of his childhood and only indulging in war ,
his father’s speech he tells for whom he is speaking with , with commander of devas , or shivas son
.parvathi scold’s him he swear’s he will not take any wepon next time & goes back and releases nandhi
and tells not to follow him meanwhile demon’s prepare mahishasura to attack kumara naradha tells it to
indra and scold’s for his lazyness being drunk when war is happening , by his speech naradha remind’s
without kartikeya there would be no success and shiva tells sakthi to go and feed kumara who is in
arunachala hill{present tiruvannamalai} then mahishasura comes and shakthi kills him and here the story
of meenakshi is also twisted she is shown as a devotee who liked to marry shiva like akkamahadevi
kumara is not liked by indra also he tries to attack kumara then shiva guards him with his single hand and
he also sends a celestial damsel to kumara to divert hios attention when he came into contact with
devasena
skanda putra
Of sons {i.e , devotees of} of skandha , the son of shiva and the patron deity of robbers
Skanda kruta sastropajivinam chauravidya

{the people who follow skanda’s art of stealing “chora vidya” }

The science of living is ascribed to “yogacharya” who was taught the science by god kartikeya
Kanaka shakthi = the wielder of lance i.e skanda

v.r nerurkar
his weapon – shathi
kanaka shakthi – an epithet of kartikeya

It is also because tamils are basically non –aryan’s and non –aryan’s are mostly tribs and skanda is tamil
god and also atharva veda is which was accepted as a veda only after serious argument over its authority
as a veda because it contains mostly about war , its equipments & witch craft though it has ayurveda
which is useful as medicine and mostly in north india skanda is not shown as son of shiva and famous
temples are not built for him though skanda purana , kumarasambhavam etc exists but in south india
especially in tamil nadu there are famous 6 shrines for him and veda is also divided into
Sanskrit veda
Dravidian veda
th
Dravidian veda means divine verses in tamil it is said when evolution started there was 4 meeting of
th st
tamil’s but it is the beginning of evolution how can 4 meeting be held then so it is understood 1 3
meetings are held in kailasa
