The main purpose of this activity is to provide CAMGSM 3G an optimization process & report
upon analyzing several drive test data to achieve an improvement in the overall network
quality. Several key performance indicator has been identified and will be used as a platform
of comparison between the performance before the after the optimization process.

Figure 100 Initial Drive & Final Drive Voice Calls Statistic Summary
A brief introduction about the setup of drive test equipment & various scripting information
with regards to the drive testing was provided in order to give a better picture of the data
collection process & procedures.
A detail analysis for voice calls & scanner performance for initial & final drive test are
provided, together with the necessary corrective recommendations for the various problems
encountered, i.e. call failure, call drops, poor EcNo performance etc.
Various call statistics for voice calls & general RF performance from scanner logs were
presented for comparison purpose at the end of the optimization to illustrate the effect of the
change implemented change recommendations.
The following statements illustrate the summary of the comparison results for scanner & CS
voice calls respectively.
Finally, with the improved network performance as illustrated in the comparison results,
Alcatel is committed to deliver and provide quality & professional end to end network
equipments, to further improve the network quality of CAMGSM-3G network deployed in
Phnom Penh City, Cambodia, by means of continuous planning & optimization works.
Active Set
• Signal of GoldenCity3 became poor (EcNo) gradually, while Sonex3 signal is becoming
more dominant.
• Both monitor set & scanner show stronger signal from Sonex3.
Scanner
Monitor Set
• Similar chain of events & behavior is observed in the rest of the calls setup in any of the
cells under Golden City.
• Again 1st MR sent for e1a was to add SC111 (PP Medical3) which EcNo was very much
poorer than SC104 (Golden City2), as observed in MS & scanner.
