While-Reading

Objectives: - use and develop their skimming, scanning and comprehension skills
- use newly acquired vocab in new contexts
Estimated time: 30 minutes

1. T distributes the reading text and asks students to read it.

1. Ss read the text.

2. T monitors the students while they are reading so that he can see whether they understand it or not.
3. T asks the students if they have unknown vocab and, if yes, he prompts the students to guess their
meaning.

3. Students give their guess.

4. T reveals the meaning of the unkown vocabulary to the students.

5. T distributes an activity sheet related to the text on which there different types of questions
including “open-ended, multiple choice and true false questions” and ask students to answer them.

6. Ss try to answer them.

7. T asks the students to form sentences using the newly acquired vocabulary.

8. Ss form the sentences.
