ANSWER:

1. Ms. Dholi Ong, as a project manager has serious time management skills, she fully utilizes every
single minute of the day at work. She arrived to work earlier than most of her co-employees. She
manages to set the time where she was in the client’s place until 7:30 pm, spending time with clients
can build trust for the ongoing project where they can discuss and catch up with the progress. During
the night she makes a review of tomorrow’s schedule and jots down personal reminders and in the
morning, she makes a 15-minute review of her schedule and replies to those important messages.
Below is the detailed information as the basis for this answer:
She spent, 10 minutes socializing and catching up with her colleague Orly who just completed project
abroad. She arrived early to work making her utilize the time for a little socialization.
Allotted 25 minutes to go over the project reports and prepare for a weekly status meeting.
Allotted 20 minutes meeting with the boss.
Spent 30 minutes reviewing/helping another project manager to bring the project back on track.
Make several phone calls and replies on some email before meeting her project team.
She manages to take a short break despite a busy schedule and listens to her favorite music, a way of
relaxation and managing stress.
Productively spent 30 minutes to speak to purchasing employee to get necessary materials to the
project location on time.
She catches up some more emails while waiting for everyone to get online during the Webinar.
Set up a 30-minute review and analysis with the project team for the impact of client’s request and
about the update they agreed with Rachel.
Spent another 20 minutes updating the boss for the key events of the day.
Before the day ends she spent another 30 minutes assessing project documents and answering
emails.
She provided 30 minutes for the initiative of registering to MS Project Schedule and work on “what if”
scenarios.
Lastly set another 10 minutes to jot down some personal reminders before starting to head home.

2. The skills that Ms.Ongg posses as a project manager are

- Time management skills
- Communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Skill to handle stress
- Management and Leadership skills
-
3. Some problems that Ms.Ongg encounters during the day is

- She arrives earlier than most of her co-employees and project team. This will not utilize the
time for each member.
- Her boss has to cut a portion of her time for an ambush meeting and even shared a rumor
about her team member using “Shabu”.
- Another 2 members of the team arrived 10 minutes before the meeting was adjourned
which means they are 50 minutes late. They need to finish a job for the client, which
indicate a lack of time management skills on their end.
- Another project manager Rachel was not able to attend her own task promptly, as a result,
she requested help from Ms. Ong to bring her project on track.

4. They have skills and experience, Dependable, Committed, And Supportive. The team is very good,
in showing these characters as they manage to perceive the client’s needs for additional features
required and promised to resolve immediately. This is a clear indication that the team is ready to
comply with their client’s expectations and so as giving the needed support to the project manager.

5. Project management is a simple yet complex role. It’s simple in the sense you don’t need a
specialty, such as design skills or technical prowess. It’s complex in the sense you’ll juggle a host of
tasks, most of which require common sense. The best rule of thumb is to understand two things
masterfully: the project management essential skills you use to meet the deadlines, and your team’s
unique skills. Your team is ultimately your most valuable asset. The project manager doesn’t always
have an easy time. Challenges occur, and the project manager needs to find the solution. While
managing your projects and people and resolving issues, you’ll also be delivering regular progress
reports to a senior project manager or executive. Most common issues that a project manager
encounter were Undefined goals and poor communication. Each of these can ruin client relations and
cost a company a financial loss. Usually, strong and frequent communication with your executive
sponsors and stakeholders can mitigate any true repercussions, before you get to the deadline. By
understanding issues and what it takes to resolve them, you will be able to keep your executives, and
yourself, confident in your ability to keep the project working smoothly. Also, project managers must
understand financial burn rates and margins related to the projects. Managing these efficiently directly
impact how successful your project is.
