II. TITLE: TOURISM MARKETING, PROMOTION / EXHIBITS

II. RATIONALE:
Every marketing effort should begin with a plan, and tourism marketing is
no different. Tourism marketing plan is a road map and details the attractions in
a particular area. Tourism marketing and promotion goes hand in hand. When
you market a particular destination you set your plans, and in order to achieve
that plans you have to think of promotional efforts that could make your plans
possible.

Tourism promotion is a way of enticing tourists to visit ones destination, or


any attractions like hotels, sports facilities, adventures, eco-tourism sites, historical
and cultural destinations or some other area that tourist may find interesting.
However, marketing and promoting a place is never easy unless the people are
told and aware of the place they are promoting with. Thus, the use of promotional
tools and materials like brochures are of importance in order to disseminate
information of the particular place and made it known to people.

Another aspect of tourism promotion is through the participation of the


community where people are aware of the place or destination they are
promoting with. This could happen if an individual has the idea and knowledge
of the history and culture of his/her respective place. Therefore it is an important
part of promotion to give awareness and learning to the community the precise
information regarding the tourism sites in their respective places.

III. DESCRIPTION:

Tri-Media Promotion
In promoting a place, tri media is very important like television, print and
the like as it advertises the tourist attractions to persuade tourists / guests to visit
the place. These traditional advertising techniques in promoting a destination are
still very powerful and effective as it attracts many people.

Promotional tarpaulin is a stronger tool as it interacts directly with the


customers and most importantly it has an appealing design that entices tourists
to discover and experience the place you are promoting. This is the reason why
each place should produce promotional tarpaulins as it greatly helps to the
popularity of the place therefore creating a wider impact on its tourist arrival.
Promotional Mileage
An individual or a group who have special interest in capturing some of
the tourist attractions in our city most probably by some of the national TV shows
greatly adds dimension for our city to host either local or national program.
Consequently, this once opportunity to be visited by some of the renowned TV
shows would be very advantageous to the city’s tourism promotion and
marketing as it provides information to tourists who wish to visit our place.

Support to Travel Mart, Tourism Expo and Trade fairs

Travel Mart, Tourism Expo, and Trade Fairs are very important in the tourism
industry as it features different tourism-related establishments such as hotels, tour
operators, travel agencies and airlines, products and different tourism
destinations of different places. It is definitely one of the most anticipated travel
sales in the country and the best avenue to promote the various tourism
destinations in our Region including our city. With this, the support we will be
extending to this event is very important in exchange to the promotion of our
destinations in a big arena.

Support to World Tourism Day Celebration

Cabadbaran City is in support to the celebration of World Tourism Day. The


importance of digital technologies in tourism, providing opportunities for
innovation and preparing the sector for the future of work, is at the centre
of World Tourism Day every month of September. World Tourism Day is a unique
opportunity to raise awareness on tourism’s actual and potential contribution to
sustainable development.

Araw ng Caraga
A celebration of the creation of Caraga as an administrative Region.
Among the activities are the Kalagan Festival Street dancing competition,Mutya
ng Caraga, Garden Show, Trade Fair, Tourism and Regional Line Agencies exhibit,
Food and Services Skills contest and exhibitions, CRTCFI General Assembly and
the Songwriting and Singing Contest.

Araw ng Agusan del Norte


The founding anniversary of Agusan del Norte celebrated every June 12-
17 is marked with a week-long celebration of special events that include
Thanksgiving Mass. Sports activities, Search for Bae Agusan del Norte Barangay
Night and the Sadow festival as its highlights.
