Procuring Materials
One role of the purchasing department is to procure all necessary materials needed for
production or daily operation of the company. For a production company, this might include raw
materials such as herbal material or plastics, but it also might include tools, machinery, delivery
trucks or even the office supplies needed for the secretaries and sales team. In a retail
environment, the purchasing department makes sure there is always sufficient product on the
shelves or in the warehouses to keep the customers happy and keep the store well-stocked.
Purchasing also oversees all of the vendors that supply a company with the items it needs to
operate properly.
Evaluating Price
A purchasing department also is charged with continuously evaluating whether it is receiving
these materials at the best possible price in order to maximize profitability. This can be
challenging for a small business that may purchase in lesser quantities than a larger vendor and
which thus may not receive the same type of bulk discounts. A purchasing department in a small
business needs to shop around to find the best vendors at the most reasonable prices for the
company's particular size orders. Purchasing department staff may communicate with alternate
vendors, negotiate better pricing for bulk orders or investigate the possibility of procuring
cheaper materials from alternative sources as part of their daily activities.
Production Department

marhaba laboratories in kotlakpat and sunder factory respectively.
The production department is responsible for converting inputs into outputs through the stages of
production processes. The Production Manager is responsible for making sure that raw materials
are provided and made into finished goods effectively. He or she must make sure that work is
carried out smoothly, and must supervise procedures for making work more efficient and more
enjoyable.
Following are the main duties of production department.
Quality of Goods
The production department's main duty is to ensure the goods being produced meet the
customer's quality expectations. Even though the quality assurance department inspects the
goods through the manufacturing process, the production department has certain quality duties
too. Each step measures the raw material to make sure it is within the tolerances recommended
before it goes to the next step. This measurement is either done digitally or by the machine or
production operator.
Production Scheduling
It is the duty of the production department to maintain a production schedule so other
departments know what is being produced and how long it takes to produce that quantity. The
sales department relies heavily on this production scheduling to provide customers with a
satisfactory time line of shipment for their purchases.
Research on Dengue
Dengue fever also known as break bone fever, is an infectious tropical disease caused by the
dengue virus. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic
skin rash that is similar to measles. In a small proportion of cases the disease develops into the
life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever, resulting in bleeding, low levels of blood platelets
and blood plasma leakage, orinto dengue shock syndrome, where dangerously low blood
pressure occurs. Dengue is transmitted by several species of mosquito within the genus Aedes,
principally A. aegypti. The virus has four different types; infection with one type usually gives
lifelong immunity to that type, butonly short-term immunity to the others. Subsequent infection
with a different type increases the risk of severe complications. As there is no vaccine,
prevention is sought by reducing the habitat and the number of mosquitoes and limiting exposure
to bites. Treatment of acute dengue is supportive, using either oral or intravenous rehydration for
mild or moderate disease, and intravenous fluids and blood transfusion for more severe cases.
The incidence of dengue fever has increased dramatically since the 1960s, with around50–100
million people infected yearly. Early descriptions of the condition date from 1779, and its viral
cause and the transmission were elucidated in the early 20th century. Dengue has become a
global problem since the Second World War and is endemic in more than 110 countries. Apart
from eliminating the mosquitoes, work is ongoing on a vaccine, as well as medication targeted
directly at the virus.

promotional material if they have skills within the department or they may appoint advertising
agencies or design firms to produce the work.

speed up business growth. The marketing department can provide sales teams with high-quality
leads by running advertisements that include a reply mechanism, such as a coupon or telephone

strategy.
Differentiation Strategy
Differentiation is an approach under which a firm aims to develop and market unique products
for different customer segments.

Marhaba also desiring for focus generic strategy as to keep away itself from competitors in some
product categories. Focus means to have niched for particular product so that to increase in

Marhaba offer NOISE INHAILER to target those customers who are sensitive to weather

STRENTHS:
Global expansion is one of the major strength of marhaba Industry.
Vast distribution network within Pakistan as well as beyond the boundaries
Quality product herbal as well as healthy food products.
Financial position strong due to no liabilities in bank and self finance projects.
Scientific techniques used by marhaba as they are focusing on extensive research and
laboratories testing that reflect the usage of technology to produce standardize
products.
Low start up and operational cost.
Large profit margins.
Interest of people in herbal products.
Strong brand image.
WEAKNESS:
Customer perception of people about some of the marhaba’s product is not as
compare to hamdard and qarshi for herbal drinks.
Advertising efforts are not enough to compete competitors globally.
Less awareness among consumers about some of the products.
Shelf life is less as compare to competitors.
Government intervention for the license and approval of some medicine.
Shortage of power resources due ti energy crisis.
Product lines less than competitors.
THREATS:
A price of raw material for herbal product is increasing as inflation rate is increasing.
Increase in energy crisis leads to increase in production cost.
Income and sale taxes are increasing due to unstable economy.
Energy cost increasing as already its availability is less in country.
Wastes increasing in the machine due to power fail.
Trade and tariff restriction are increasing.
In this dynamic environment where system and firms situations are changing day by day the key
of success is technology. Marhaba needs to adapt new technology so that they can compete with
their competitors. For this purpose they are going to introduce SAP in their factory which is a
good and healthy sign.
They need to make a separate HR department, because HR department is the backbone of any
organization. For the betterment of the work force and better implementation of the policies they
need to work on this department.
It goes without saying that human resources are the most important in the organization; It
integrates all the activities and functions of the bank like job analysis, recruitment, staffing,
training, designing compensation package, employee appraisal system.
The overall analysis indicates that CEO Muhammad Usman work very hard to make Marhaba
one of the renown name in herbal industry. Now it is the time when he should empower his
employees to increase market share.
To sum my report I would say that Marhaba is a good and healthy place to work in.
