Uses Of iron

 It is used to manufacture steel and also used in civil engineering like reinforced concrete, girders
etc.
 Iron is used to make alloy steels like carbon steels with additives such as nickel, chromium,
vanadium, tungsten, and manganese.
 These are used to make bridges, electricity pylons, bicycle chains, cutting tools and rifle barrels.
 Cast iron contains 3–5% carbon. It is used for pipes, valves, and pumps.
 Iron catalysts are used in the Haber process for producing ammonia.
 Magnets can be made of this metal and its alloys and compounds.

Uses of Gold
 Finances and Investing
 Because of its high and standard return value, it has been used as currency for centuries.

 Dentistry and Medicine

 Gold is considered as the best filling for cavities and crowns, bridges and other orthodontic
appliances because the metal is ductile and can easily take shapes.

 Electronics and Computers

 Gold is of the top metals when it comes to being good conductors of electricity. It is able to carry
electrical charges easily and because of this property, this metal is found in small portions in
many electrical devices like mobile phones.

 Medals and Statues

 Gold is considered as a highly auspicious and precious metal it is used in the making of winning
medals for popular world games, championships and awards.

 Jewellery
 As per statistics, about 80% of gold is converted into jewelry. It is the most standard use if gold
and is common amongst all cultures. Because of its shine, luster and durable chattels.
Uses of Aluminum

 Building and Construction

- Approximately one-fifth of the world's total consumption of aluminum is used by the
construction industry. Bridges, domes, and roofs of several big structures, like markets, sports
complexes, and stadiums make use of aluminum.

 Packaging
- Around one-fifth of the extracted aluminum is used in the packaging of foods, beverages,
pharmaceuticals, etc. Cans, trays, foils, bottles, thermos, utensils, kettles, refrigerators, toasters,
and saucepans are made of this element.

 Transportation
- About a quarter of aluminum is used in transportation. Aircraft carriers, trains, ships, boats,
buses, and other motor vehicles make use of aluminum because of its strength and
weightlessness. Frames, exteriors, wiring, and electrical systems in airplanes make use of
aluminum.

 Automobile Industry
- The metal is widely used in cars. Aluminum car parts have good thermal and aesthetic
properties. These car parts are quite cheap. Few car parts, such as wheels, engine blocks,
suspension components, hoods, transmission housings, and wheel spacer bars are made of
aluminum.

 Electricity
- Electrical equipment, power lines, and electricity make use of about 10% aluminum. Its low
density and high ductility is what makes it suitable for the transmission of high voltage electricity
over long distances.
Uses of Magnesium

 Constipation. Taking magnesium by mouth is helpful as a laxative for constipation and to

prepare the bowel for medical procedures.
 Indigestion (dyspepsia). Taking magnesium by mouth as an antacid reduces symptoms of
heartburn and indigestion. Various magnesium compounds can be used, but magnesium
hydroxide seems to work the fastest.
 Seizures in women with pre-eclampsia. Administering magnesium intravenously (by IV) or as a
shot is considered the treatment of choice for eclampsia. Administering magnesium reduces the
risk of seizures in women with this condition.
 Low levels of magnesium in the blood (hypomagnesemia). Taking magnesium is helpful for
treating and preventing magnesium deficiency. Magnesium deficiency usually occurs when
people have liver disorders, heart failure, vomiting or diarrhea, kidney dysfunction, and other
conditions.
 A pregnancy complication marked by high blood pressure and protein in the urine (pre-
eclampsia). Administering magnesium intravenously (by IV) or as a shot is considered the
treatment of choice for preventing seizures in women with pre-eclampsia.
