‘As members ofthe Minnesta Legislature, we write to express our support ofthe United States-Mesleo-
(Canad Agreement (USMCA),
‘Minnesota has vested interest nthe ratification of ths historic agreement. t would strengthen 2
relationship thats alread vital to our economy. Minnesota enjoys vibrant agriculture, small business,
and manufacturing communities that will be strengthened through the USM. n 2017 alone,
[Minnesota's exports to our Vath American neighbors totaled $6.7 Bilion.
(nein four of Minnesota's manufacturing firms export to Canads and Mexico; of these firms, 78% are
assied as small and medium sized businesses. The new customs ad trade rules willmake I easier for
small businesses to paticpate in eoss border trade, Adtionaly, more than 22,600 manufacturing Jos
depend on our exports to Gnada and Mesico. The USMCA will help these businesses grow, compete
lobaly, and create moce wol-paying obs in our communities and across the country.
In adtion, $7,700 Minnesotans work in jobs that depend on our agrcuture exports. In 2018, more
