1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. THE PROJECT
Astronomy is a fascinating branch of science
it is a study of our own universe and how it
functions. Human adored the sky since the
beginning of time many philosophers tried to
uncover and study what is in the beyond and
because of this inherited curiosity mankind
further the advancement in the study of
Astronomy in time researches and facilities that
can observe our sky more accurately are built,
but in the Philippines the field of Astronomy is
being left out and Philippines lacks of personnel
who are invested and knowledgeable in the field,
of course there are reasons why these kind of
problems are present in the field of Astronomy.
One of the reasons is that Philippines lack
facilities where Astronomy can be studied, the
only known University that offers the course is
the Rizal Technological University (RTU) and
only 3 planetariums are here in the Philippines all
are located in Manila therefore only those who
are situated here in Metro Manila can access the
facilities and this results to people to not notice
the field and it takes away the opportunity to
further learn and broaden peoples curiosity in the
field. Astronomy in the Philippines is in a situation
where it is almost left out because it is not
considered a priority. Philippines is more geared
towards Economic Development than the
advancement of this kind of study. Science and
technology are being disregarded and in turn the
benefits that it can give to the country is being
miss out a ton.
Thus, NEBULA’s aim is to create a facility
that host a Planetarium and research facilities for
students or enthusiast to visit. The facility intends
to educate visitors on the vast field of Astronomy
and in the same time to give them opportunity to
enjoy and experience the field of Astronomy. To
the study in the province of Laguna. Santa Rosa,
Laguna is city that is considered developing,
though Santa Rosa has a need in Tertiary
Institution there are already plans for future
universities to be built in Santa Rosa, Laguna
(UST, Don Bosco, Miriam, Ateneo, St.
Scholastica, etc.); and with the help of this
proposed planetarium, It opens the potential of
these universities to open a program which
tackles Astronomy. NEBULA can serve as an
extension of the schools to help in the program of
Astronomy and further create a possibility for the
field of Astronomy to flourish in our country.
1.2. PROBEM STATEMENT
Astronomy here in the Philippines is in a
situation where it is considered less priority
because our country is geared towards
Economic Development and the study of the
field of Astronomy takes a big hit on that
because for Astronomy to develop, our
Government should consider prioritizing and
funding these kind of facilities that supports
the study of Astronomy. With out facilities
like this the study of the field will be limited to
only videos from the internet and books that
are discussing the field.
Philippines lacks the facilities where
researches and studies for Astronomy is
supported there are only three facilities and
all is located in manila.

change the mindset of the Filipinos
