The Power of Art

First and foremost, I, myself, strongly believe that art, itself, has the power to change
the world. Power in literal definition, it is the capacity to direct the behavior of others or even
the course of events. As much as we analyze by the definition of power in terms of Physics,
power is simply the rate of doing work. Yes, art is not just commonly about the creative and
imaginative thinking of a person's mind, but rather, putting it into actions as well, art really has
the power to change the whole perspective of all human race throughout the world. Most
of the time, people think that art is just an expression of what the artist want to convey to us
but only few can really feel, comprehend and analyzing deeper the true power of art, and
of what art can do to every single one of us living in this unstable world.

In the article I have read, entitled "Why art has the power to change the world", by
Olafur Eliasson, I have felt every single word he has put into that article. I have no doubt why
Olafur really wants us to perceive and believe about art because basically, I believe that
everything he believes is true. Olafur, as an artist, have been through a lot of experiences and
journeys he faced with strong conviction to arts. Art as stated on the article, must be tackled
on the political lines, economic growth, and to everyday lives of all the leaders, citizens of a
certain country, and all of the other human beings all throughout the world, on how this art
can be powerful enough to change the world. It might sound a little funny, but honestly, as
for my own point of view, only few people really preserve the idea of what art can do and
how art can change the world making it stable enough to hold on through the years. Knowing
arts, I really do not have enough idea of how I can do to influence other people through the
essence of it, but by only giving it so much time to analyze deeper than we usually do, you
will be thinking, everything we do is basically the whole piece of art itself. It was given a broad
way of how we define arts, that is why, I believe, that we should not just see it by our naked
eyes, but through the use of a microscope, every single detail that we need to look at, will
appear and show what is the real power of art. Art has everything we need to cope up in the
world but step by step, gradually, an overall progress from this world, will be evidently opened
from all of the eyes of the people.

As the question have been asked, if I will be given a chance to exhibit my art, where
would I be displaying it for others to appreciate your art? Living in this modern world, I'll be
practically honest that I would be displaying my art on social media. Why? Simple, posting
anything on social media disseminates rapidly for others to connect or appreciate what the
art has been sent. I know the limits of displaying arts on social media but for others to perceive
and convey what I want to convey onto their minds faster, social media through the help of
technology would be a good choice. I am not saying that a traditional form of exhibiting art
is not a good choice but only in practicality, today's generation is mostly fond of using
technology. Moreover, an art exhibition in a certain place would have local participants
present only on that certain city or province or place. To give disadvantage of using social
media on displaying art, it might change over time and many people can imitate the art
giving the credits to their names but not your name. But that doesn't mean the original artist
would not be given enough credits for their art. To wrap all of these things up, the main point
of everything has been said whether where would you put or display your art, and how art
can do to make a change in this world, it simply telling us to be critically thinkers of the world
we are living in because we are the creators of art, and art is "we".
