Efficient energy
re-utilisation
In the case of cranes, multiple asynchronous
machines work in interconnected operation -
some in motor and some in generator mode.
The common DC link scheme for all drive
units ensures re-utilisation of the braking
energy in the direct way, rather than via the
mains.
The mains feeder must supply part of the
total power only. High-quality control of the
DC link voltage and the pilot control option
ensure safe mastering of the frequent and
strong load changes of crane drives.
ProCrane controls the mains current phase
position, even at low levels. This means that
only the power required is taken from the
mains supply with a power factor cos φ = 1,
irrespective of the motors‘ power factor cos φ.
In addition, the reactive power present in

by taking into account the current limits of
the unit.
