The tenth night of Muharram;The `ªsh£r¡' Night

Sayyid Ibn ±¡w£s, in Iqb¡l al-A`m¡l, has mentioned a number of supplicatory prayers and a big number of prayers that
are advisably said and offered at this tenth night of Mu¦arram. He has also cited the big rewards of saying and offering
these supplications and prayers. For instance, it is recommended to offer a one hundred unit prayer with S£rah al-F¡ti¦ah
once and S£rah al-Taw¦¢d three times. Then repeat seventy times:

All glory be to Allah, sub¦¡na all¡hi ‫ﻥ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻠ ِﻪ‬

َ ‫ﺳ ْﺒﺤَﺎ‬
ُ
all praise be to Allah, wal¦amdu lill¡hi ‫ﺪ ِﻟ ﱠﻠ ِﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﺤ ْﻤ‬
َ ‫َﻭﭐﹾﻟ‬
there is no god save Allah, wa l¡ il¡ha ill¡ all¡hu ‫ﻻ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻠ ُﻪ‬
‫ﻻ ﹺﺇﻟٰ َﻪ ﹺﺇ ﱠ‬
‫َﻭ ﹶ‬
Allah is the Greatest, wall¡hu akbaru ‫ﻭَﭐﻟ ﱠﻠ ُﻪ ﺍَٴ ﹾﻛ َﺒ ُﺮ‬
and there is neither might nor
wa l¡ ¦awla wa l¡ quwwata ill¡
power save with Allah, the All-high
bill¡hi al`aliyyi al`a¨¢mi
‫ﻢ‬
‫ﻲ ﭐﹾﻟ َﻌﻈِﻴ ﹺ‬
‫ﻻ ﺑﹺﭑﻟ ﱠﻠ ِﻪ ﭐﹾﻟ َﻌ ِﻠ ﱢ‬
‫ﻻ ﹸﻗ ﱠﻮ ﹶﺓ ﹺﺇ ﱠ‬
‫ﻝ َﻭ ﹶ‬
‫ﺣ ْﻮ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﻻ‬
‫َﻭ ﹶ‬
the All-great.
According to another narration, one should implore for Almighty Allah’s forgiveness after the previously mentioned
statements.
It is also recommended to offer a four unit prayer at the last of this night, reciting S£rah al-F¡ti¦ah once and repeating
ªyah al-Kurs¢ and S£rahs al-Taw¦¢d, al-Falaq, al-N¡s ten times each. After accomplishment, S£rah al-Taw¦¢d is repeated
one hundred times.
It is also recommended to offer a four unit prayer with S£rah al-F¡ti¦ah once and S£rah al-Taw¦¢d fifty times. which
brings about a tremendous reward, Sayyid Ibn ±¡w£s says after citing this prayer, “When you finish the fourth units, you
may mention Almighty Allah, invoke blessings upon the Holy Prophet and his Household, and curse their enemies as many
times as possible.
As regarding the reward of spending this whole night with acts of worship, it has been narrated that one who does so
shall be considered having worshipped Almighty Allah with the worship of all the angels. Furthermore, to practice acts of
worship at this night is equal to seventy-year worship. Moreover, as for one who succeeds to visit the tomb of Imam al-
°usayn (`a) at this night and spends the whole night there up to morning, Almighty Allah shall resurrect him, on the
Judgment Day, spotted with the blood of Imam al-°usayn (`a) in the group of those who were martyred with him.

Stay away from food and water until late afternoon. (This is NOT a fast and thus should not be kept with the intention of fasting)

Focus on the great tragedy that took place on this day and avoid attending to your business/employment matters, laughing and
unnecessary discussions. Recite Salawát as many times possible.
When meeting fellow brothers, condole them in the following words:
May Alláh make our reward
and your reward great, for
a`¨ama all¡hu uj£ran¡ ‫ﻦ‬
‫ﺴ ْﻴ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
ُ ‫ﻢ ﭐﻟ ﱠﻠ ُﻪ ﺍﺟُﻮ َﺭﻧﹶﺎ ﹺﺑ ُﻤﺼﹶﺎﹺﺑﻨﹶﺎ ﺑﹺﭑﹾﻟ‬
َ‫ﻈ‬
‫ﺍ ْﻋ ﹶ‬
bimu¥¡bin¡ bil¦usayni `alayhi
our grief for Husayn, peace
be on him".

‫ﺴﹶ‬‫َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ ﭐﻟ ﱠ‬
May He place us and you
wa ja`alan¡ wa iyy¡kum min
from those who help his

‫ﻦ ﹺﺑﺜﹶﺎ ﹺﺭ ِﻩ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﭐﻟﻄﱠﺎِﻟﺒﹺﻴ‬ َ ‫ﻢ ِﻣ‬ ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹶﻠﻨﹶﺎ َﻭﹺﺇﻳﱠﺎ ﹸﻛ‬
َ ‫َﻭ‬
cause
ma`a waliyyih¢ al-im¡mi
with His representative, the
almahdiyyi min ¡li ‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬ ‫ﻦﺁ ﹺ‬ َ ‫ﻱ ِﻣ‬
‫ﺪ ﱢ‬ ِ ‫ﻹﻣَﺎ ﹺﻡ ﭐﹾﻟ َﻤ ْﻬ‬ِ ‫ﻊ َﻭِﻟ ﱢﻴ ِﻪ ﭐ‬ َ ‫َﻣ‬
guided Imám from the family
mu¦ammadin `alayhimu
of Muhammad, peace be on ‫ﻼ ُﻡ‬
‫ﺴﹶ‬ ‫ﻢ ﭐﻟ ﱠ‬ ُ ‫َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ ﹺﻬ‬

Recite Sura 112 al-Ikhlás 1000 times, or as many times as possible.

O Allah condemn and lay a

curse upon the killers of Allahumal a'n qatalatal husayn wa 
Husayn (as), his family and awlaadihee wa ashaabihee 
friends    

Would that we were with

afoozo maakum Fawzan Azeema
‫ﻓَﻴَﺎ ﻟ َ ْﻴﺘ َ ِ ْﲎ ﮐُ ْﻨ ُﺖ َﻣ َﻌ ُ ْﲂ ﻓَ َﺎﻓُ ْﻮ َز َﻣ َﻌ ُ ْﲂ ﻓَ ْﻮز ًا َﻋ ِﻈ ْﻴﲈ‬
accomplishment with you 

Recite the following Salaat, dua’as and Ziyaarat, after Fajr Salaat, but before Zuhr Salaat
.
a) First prayer: In the first raka`a, after Súra al- Hamd, recite Súra109 al-Káfirún In the second raka`a, after Súra al-Hamd, recite Súra al-Ikhlás.
b)Second prayer: In the first raka`a, after Súra al- Hamd, recite Súra 33 al-Ahzáb . In the second raka`a, after Súra al-Hamd, recite Súra 63 al-
Munáfiqún

In remembrance of the time Imam Husain (as) had the bloodied body of his 6 month old Infant son Ali Asgar in
his arms & hesitated while walking towards the Tents to hand the body over to the mother !
a )Take a few steps Forward and then Retrace your steps to where you began .
Say the following while you are moving forward and backward ( ie 7 times )
Verily we are Allah’s and
verily unto Him we return. INNAA LILLAAHI WA INNAA
We are happy with His will ILAYHI RAAJI-O ‘ONA RIZ”AN
and carry out His BI-QAZ”AAA-IHEEWA
TASLEEMAN LI-AMRIHEE
command 

b) Then go back to your place where you are standing and recite: -

O Allah! Condemn and punish the licentious profligates

‫ﻚ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ْﻮﻟﹶـ‬
ُ ‫ﻦ ﺷﹶﺎ ﱡﻗﻮْﺍ َﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺬْﻳ‬
ِ ‫ﺠ َﺮ ﹶﺓ ﺍﱠﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺏ ﺍﻟﹾـ ﹶﻔ‬
‫ﺬ ﹺ‬
ِّ ‫ﻢ َﻋ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
who make the life of Thy Messenger miserable; and
waged was against Thy close friends, and worshipped ‫ﺤ ﱡﻠﻮْﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ﹶﺘ‬
ْ ‫ﻙ َﻭ ﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺪﻭْﺍ ﹶﻏ ْﻴ َﺮ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ َﻭ َﻋ َﺒ‬
َ ‫ﺣَﺎ َﺭُﺑﻮْﺍ ﹶﺍ ْﻭِﻟﻴَﺂﹶﺋ‬
others, (but ) not Thee, deemed lawful (that which) Thou
had forbidden, bring a curse upon their leaders,
‫ﻥ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﻛﹶﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻉ َﻭ َﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺍﹾﻟﻘﹶﺎ َﺩ ﹶﺓ َﻭ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎﹾﺗﺒَﺎ‬
‫ﻚ َﻭ ﺍﹾﻟ َﻌ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﻣَـﺤَﺎ َﺭ َﻣ‬
followers, on those who were in them, secretly or ‫ﻢ ﹶﻟ ْﻌﻨﹰﺎ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ ﹺﺑ ِﻔ ْﻌ ِﻠ ﹺﻬ‬
َ ‫ﺿ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ ﹶﺍ ْﻭ َﺭ‬
ْ ‫ﻊ َﻣ َﻌ ُﻬ‬
َ‫ﺿ‬
‫ﺐ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻭ ﹶ‬
‫ﺨ ﱠ‬
‫ﻢ ﹶﻓ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ِﻣ ﹾﻨ ُﻬ‬
distinctly were hand in glove with them, or condoning
their (mis) deeds. A great many curses. ‫ﹶﻛ ِﺜ ْﻴﺮًﺍ‬

O my Allah, bid to bring joy and happiness quickly for

‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺻ ﹶﻠﻮَﺍِﺗ‬
‫ﻞ ﹶ‬
‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ﻭَﺍ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
‫ﺝ ﺍٰ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﹶﻓ َﺮ‬
‫ﺠ ﹾ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ َﻋ ّﹺ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
“Aali Muhammad”, (the children of Muhammad), bestow
Thy blessings on him and on them, save them from the ‫ﻦ ﹶﺍْﻳﺪِﻯ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﺬ ُﻫ‬
‫ﺳﺘﹶـ ﹾﻨ ِﻘ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﻭَﺍ‬
ْ ‫َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ َﻭ َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ ﹺﻬ‬
dangerous clutches of the undercover two-timers, and
‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺪْﻳ‬
ِ‫ﺣ‬
ِ ‫ﻜ ﹶﻔ َﺮ ِﺓ ﺍﻟﹾـﺠَﺎ‬
‫ﻦ َﻭ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﻀ ِّﻠ ْﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤﻨﹶﺎ ِﻓ ِﻘ ْﻴ‬
the obstinate disbelievers; open for them the doors of
“the beginning”, a facility to put in practice gentleness, ‫ﻢ َﺭ ْﻭﺣًﺎ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﺢ ﻟﹶـ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﺴ ْﻴﺮًﺍ َﻭ ﹶﺍِﺗ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ ﹶﻓ ﹾﺘﺤًﺎ ﱠﻳ‬
ْ ‫ﺢ ﻟﹶـ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﻭَﺍ ﹾﻓ ﹶﺘ‬
kindness and fairplay; create favorable conditions for
them to make life full of love and thought, cheerful, free
‫ﻙ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ّﹺﻭ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠٰﻰ َﻋ‬
َ ‫ﺪﹾﻧ‬
ُ ‫ﻦ ﱠﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ ﹶﻟ ُﻬ‬
‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﻓﹶ َﺮﺟًﺎ ﹶﻗ ﹺﺮْﻳﺒًﺎ ﻭَﺍ‬
of care, as early as possible, on Thy authority let them ‫ﺼ ْﻴﺮًﺍ‬
ِ ‫ﺳ ﹾﻠﻄٰﻨﹰﺎ ﱠﻧ‬
ُ ‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ّﹺﻭ ِﻫ‬
ُ ‫ َﻋ‬.

have full control over Thy enemies, to help, rescue and

defend (mankind).

ALLAAHUMMA A’D’D’IBIL FAJARATAL LAD’EENA SHAAQQOO RASOOLAKA WA H’AARABOO AWLIYAAA-IKA WA A’BADOO

GHAYRAKA WAS-TAH’ALLOO MUH’AARAMAKA WAL-A’NIL QAADATA WAL ATBAA-A’ WA MAN KAANA MINHUM FA-KHABBAWA
AWZ”A-A’MA-A’HUM AW RAZ”IYA BI-FIA’-LIHIM LAA’- NAN KATHEERAA ALLAAHUMMA WA A’JJIL FARAJA AALI MUH’AMMAD
WAJ-A’L S’ALAWAATIKA A’LAYHI WA A’LAYHIM WAS-TANQID’HUM MIN AYDIL MUNAAFIQEENAL MUZ”ILLEENA WAL
KAFARATIL JAAHI’IDEENA WAFTAH’ LAHUM FATH’AN YASEERAA WA ATIH’ LAHUM RAWH’AN WA FARAJAN QAREEBAA WAJ-
A’L LAHUM MIN LADUNKA A’LAA A’DUWWIKA WA A’DUWWIHIM SUT’AANAN NAS’EERAA

c) Then raise your hands, having in mind the enemies of “Aale Muhammad”, and say: -
O my Allah! Indeed a great many among the people
‫ﺖ‬
ِ ‫ﺻ َﺒ‬
‫ﻦ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹸﺎ ﱠﻣ ِﺔ ﻧﹶﺎ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﻥ ﹶﻛ ِﺜ ْﻴﺮًﺍ ِّﻣ‬
‫ﻢ ِﺍ ﱠ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
declared war, laid traps and intrigued against the careful
and gentle guardians who observed and fulfilled the duty. ‫ﻜ ِﻠ َﻤ ِﺔ‬
‫ﺕ ﺑﹺﺎﻟﹾـ ﹶ‬
‫ﻦ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎِﺋ ﱠﻤ ِﺔ َﻭ ﹶﻛ ﹶﻔ َﺮ ﹾ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻈ ْﻴ‬
ِ ‫ﺤ ِﻔ‬
ْ ‫ﺴ ﹶﺘ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤ‬
The ungratefuls (the said opponents) renounced the faith
and did not, in fact, believe in the “Kalimah” (LAA ILAAHA
‫ﺏ‬
َ ‫ﻜﺘﹶﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺕ ﺍﹾﻟ‬
ِ ‫ﺠ َﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻈ ﹶﻠ َﻤ ِﺔ َﻭ َﻫ‬
‫ﺖ َﻋ ﹶﻠﻰ ﺍﹾﻟﻘﹶﺎ َﺩ ِﺓ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
‫ﻜ ﹶﻔ ﹾ‬
‫َﻭ َﻋ ﹶ‬
ILLALLAAH); attached themselves to the trend setters of ‫ﺕ‬
‫ﻦ ﹶﺍ َﻣ ْﺮ ﹶ‬
‫ﺬْﻳ ﹺ‬
‫ﻦ ﺍﱠﻟ ﹶ‬
‫ﺤ ْﺒ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟﹾـ‬
‫ﺖ َﻋ ﹺ‬
‫ﺪﹶﻟ ﹾ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ﱠﻨ ﹶﺔ َﻭ َﻋ‬
‫َﻭ ﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
disorder and tyranny; disowned and gave up the Book and
the (Divine) rule of life; swerved from and angled off the ‫ﻖ َﻭ‬
‫ﺤ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ﺍﻟﹾـ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ ﹺﺑ ﹺﻬﻤَﺎ ﹶﻓ ﹶﺎﻣَﺎﹶﺗ‬
ِ ‫ﺴ‬
‫ﺑﹺﻄﹶﺎ َﻋ ِﺘ ﹺﻬﻤَﺎ َﻭ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺘ َﻤ ﱡ‬
two strings which according to Thy commandment, (they)
‫ﺖ‬
ِ ‫ﺣ ﱠﺮ ﹶﻓ‬
َ ‫ﺏ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺣﺰﹶﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﺕ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺪ َﻭﻣَﺎﹶﻟ ﹶﺄ‬
ِ‫ﺼ‬
‫ﻦ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﻘ ﹾ‬
‫ﺕ َﻋ ﹺ‬
‫ﺣَﺎ َﺩ ﹾ‬
should have held fast and stuck close by; undermined and
twisted the truth; Went, away from the real purpose, in the ‫ﻖ ﻟﹶـﻤﱠﺎ ﺟَﺎﹶﺋﻬَﺎ َﻭ‬
‫ﺤ ّﹺ‬
َ ‫ﺕ ﺑﹺﺎﻟـ‬
‫ﺏ َﻭ ﹶﻛ ﹶﻔ َﺮ ﹾ‬
َ ‫ﻜﺘﹶﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﺍﻟﹾـ‬
opposite direction ; encouraged partisanship; Altered and
‫ﺖ‬
‫ﺿ ﱠﻴ َﻌ ﹾ‬
‫ﺿﻬَﺎ َﻭ ﹶ‬
‫ﻞ ﻟﹶـﻤﱠﺎ ﺍ ْﻋ ﹶﺘ َﺮ ﹶ‬
‫ﺖ ﺑﹺﺎﹾﻟﺒَﺎ ِﻃ ﹺ‬
‫ﻜ ﹾ‬
‫ﺴﹶ‬‫ﺗﹶـ َﻤ ﱠ‬
falsified the Book; refused to believe in the evident proof
and rightful claim, whenever confronted face to face; chose ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻻ َﺩ ﹶﻧ ﹺﺒ ّﹺﻴ‬
‫ﺖ ﹶﺍ ْﻭ ﹶ‬
‫ﻚ َﻭ ﹶﻗ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻠ ﹾ‬
َ ‫ﺧ ﹾﻠ ﹶﻘ‬
‫ﺖ ﹶ‬
‫ﺿ ﱠﻠ ﹾ‬
‫ﻚ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﺣ ﱠﻘ‬
َ
falsehood, whenever came across; lost their way and
corrupted Thy laws, Islam; led people astray; killed the
‫ﻚ َﻭ َﻭ َﺭﹶﺛ ﹶﺔ‬
َ ‫ﻙ َﻭ ﺣَـ َﻤ ﹶﻠ ﹶﺔ ِﻋ ﹾﻠ ِﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻴ َﺮ ﹶﺓ ِﻋﺒَﺎ ِﺩ‬
ِ ‫َﻭ‬
children of Thy Prophet, Thy liberal highminded servants, ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺣ ﹺﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﻭ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﻜ َﻤ ِﺘ‬
‫ﺣﹾ‬ِ
bearers of Thy knowledge, inheritors of Thy wisdom and
revelation, the Book.

O my Allah, upset and overturn the plan and movement of

‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ْﻮِﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻋﺪَﺁ ِﺀ َﺭ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ﹶﺍ ﹾﻗﺪَﺍ َﻡ ﹶﺍ ْﻋﺪَﺁِﺋ‬
‫ﻢ ﹶﻓ ﹶﺰﹾﻟ ﹺﺰ ﹾ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
Thy enemies, (who are also) the enemies of Thy Messenger
and the children of Thy Messenger. ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ْﻮِﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ َﺭ‬
ِ ‫ﻞ َﺑ ْﻴ‬
‫َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻫ ﹺ‬
O my Allah, put a stop to the spread of their sphere of
influence; make their equipment and men unserviceable,
‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﺣ ُﻬ‬
َ‫ﻼ‬
‫ﺳﹶ‬
ِ ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻢ ﻭَﺍ ﹾﻓ ﹸﻠ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﺏ ِﺩﻳَﺎ َﺭ ُﻫ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ ﹺﺮ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ﹾ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
their expression confused and contradictory; break up their ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ ﹶﺍ ْﻋﻀﹶﺎ ِﺩ ِﻫ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ِﻓ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹸﻓ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ﹶﻛ ِﻠ َﻤ ِﺘ ﹺﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻒ َﺑ ْﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﺧﹶﺎِﻟ‬
support; crack up their strategy; lay hold upon them, hit
and cut off by Thy one sharp strike; throw them down, ‫ﻊ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍﹾﻟﻘﹶﺎ ِﻃ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ْﻴ ِﻔ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﹺﺑ‬
ْ ‫ﺿ ﹺﺮْﺑ ُﻬ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﺍ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ُﻫ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﹶﻛ ْﻴ‬
ْ ‫ِﻫ‬
frightened by Thy hard unnerving barrier, bury them under
‫ﺎ‬‫ﻢ ﺑﹺﺎﹾﻟ َﺒﻠﹶﺂ ِﺀ ﹶﻃﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﻎ َﻭ ﹸﻃ ﱠﻤ ُﻬ‬
‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﺪﱠﺍ ِﻣ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ﹺﺮ‬
َ‫ﺤ‬َ ‫ﻢ ﺑﹺـ‬
ْ ‫ﻭَﺍ ْﺭ ِﻣ ﹺﻬ‬
the swallowing mud of disasters; let them be mean and
contemptible under the yoke of despise-able penance; bring ‫ﻜﺮًﺍ َﻭ‬
‫ﻢ َﻋﺬﹶﺍﺑًﺎ ﹸﻧ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﺬْﺑ ُﻬ‬
ِّ ‫ﺎ َﻭ َﻋ‬‫ﺏ ﹶﻗﻤ‬
‫ﻢ ﺑﹺﺎﹾﻟ َﻌﺬﹶﺍ ﹺ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ﹸﻗ ﱠﻤ ُﻬ‬

them to book and let them have the taste of a hard and
‫ﺖ‬
‫ﻜ ﹶ‬
‫ﻰ ﹶﺍ ْﻫﻠﹶـ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﺕ ﺍﱠﻟ ِﺘ‬
ِ ‫ﻼ‬
‫ﻦ َﻭ ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤ ﹶﺜ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﺴ ﹺﻨ ْﻴ‬
ِّ ‫ﻢ ﺑﹺﺎﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﺬ ُﻫ‬
‫ﺧﹾ‬
‫ﹸ‬
sharp retribution; fester them with definite and exemplary
punishment, as Thou wipes out Thy enemies; it is beyond ‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ﹺﺮ ِﻣ ْﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﹸﺫ ْﻭ ﹺﻧ ﹾﻘ َﻤ ٍﺔ ِّﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ِﺍﱠﻧ‬
َ ‫ﺑﹺﻬَﺎ ﹶﺍ ْﻋﺪَﺁﹶﺋ‬
the shadow of doubt that Thou cracks down upon the
criminals.
‫ﻄ ﹶﻠ ﹲﺔ َﻭ‬
‫ﻚ ُﻣ َﻌ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺣﻜﹶﺎ َﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﺿﹶﺂِﺋ َﻌ ﹲﺔ َﻭ ﹶﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ﱠﻨ ﹶﺘ‬
ُ ‫ﻥ‬
‫ﻢ ِﺍ ﱠ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
O my Allah, the way of life approved by Thee has been ‫ﺽ ﻫَﺂِﺋ َﻤ ﹲﺔ‬ ‫ﻚ ﻓِﻰ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎ ْﺭ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ِﻋ ﹾﺘ َﺮ ﹶﺓ ﹶﻧ ﹺﺒ ّﹺﻴ‬
tossed aside; Thy code of law has been suspended; and the
descendents of the Prophet, in this world, had been ‫ﻞ َﻭ‬ ‫ﻖ َو َاﻫ َ ْٗهل َﻭ ﹶﺍ ﹾﻗ َﻤ ﹺ‬
‫ﻊ ﺍﹾﻟﺒَﺎ ِﻃ ﹶ‬ ‫ﺤ ﱠ‬َ ‫ﻦ ﺍﻟﹾـ‬‫ﻢ ﹶﻓ ﹶﺎ ِﻋ ﹺ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
tormented. O my Allah, Therefore give all Thy attention and
‫ﻥ‬
ِ ‫ﺪﻧﹶﺎ ِﺍﻟﹶﻰ ﺍﹾﻟ ِﺎﻳْـﻤَﺎ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴﻨﹶﺎ ﺑﹺﺎﻟ ﱠﻨﺠَﺎ ِﺓ ﻭَﺍ ْﻫ‬
‫ﻞهٗ َﻭ ُﻣ ﱠ‬
‫ﺍﹶ ْﻫ ﹶ‬
care to signify truth, and the upholders of truth; restrain
and prevent falsehood, and the camp-followers of false- ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺝ ﹶﺍ ْﻭِﻟﻴَﺂِﺋ‬
‫ﻈ ْﻤ ُﻪ ﹺﺑ ﹶﻔ َﺮ ﹺ‬
ِ ‫ﺟﻨﹶﺎ ﻭَﺍﹾﻧ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﹶﻓ َﺮ‬
‫ﺠ ﹾ‬
‫َﻭ َﻋ ّﹺ‬
hood, and take us to safety as a favour; guide us to true
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹾﻓﺪًﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹾﻠﻨﹶﺎ ﻟﹶـ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﺍ ﻭَﺍ‬‫ﻢ ﹶﻟﻨﹶﺎ ُﻭﺩ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹾﻠ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﻭَﺍ‬
faith; make available for us, as soon as possible, happiness
and bliss, bring everything in to good order through the
inspiring presence of Thy representatives; make us desire ‫ﻚ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ﹶﻧ ﹺﺒ ّﹺﻴ‬
‫ﻞ ﺍْﺑ ﹺ‬
‫ﻞ َﻳ ْﻮ َﻡ ﹶﻗ ﹾﺘ ﹺ‬
‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻫ ِﻠ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
and love them , make them receive us with open arms.
O my Allah, bring to nothing those who celebrate the day
‫ﺬ‬
‫ﺧﹾ‬
‫ﻞ ِﺑ ٖﻪ ﹶﻓ َﺮﺟًﺎ َﻭ َﻣ َﺮﺣًﺎ َﻭ ﹸ‬
‫ﺳ ﹶﺘ َﻬ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ِﻋ ْﻴﺪًﺍ ﻭَﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺧ َﻴ َﺮِﺗ‬
ِ
the choicest (grand) son of Thy Prophet was martyred, in ‫ﻒ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﺿﹶﺎ ِﻋ‬
ْ ‫ﺕ ﹶﺍ ﱠﻭﻟﹶـ ُﻬ‬
‫ﺬ ﹶ‬
‫ﺧﹾ‬
‫ﻢ ﹶﻛﻤَﺎ ﹶﺍ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ َﺮ ُﻫ‬
ِ ٰ‫ﺍ‬
cheerful amusement; laugh and enjoy in utter delight and
indulge in wanton boisterous merriment; catch hold of and
punish each one of the remaining, just as Thou cracked ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﻰ ﹶﺍ ْﻫ ﹺ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ َﻋﻠٰﻰ ﻇﹶﺎﻟِـ ِﻤ‬
‫ﻜ ْﻴ ﹶ‬
ِ ‫ﺏ َﻭ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺘ ﹾﻨ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺍﹾﻟ َﻌﺬﹶﺍ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
down on the early (culprits); make twice as much the
penalty,
‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﻗﹶﺎ َﺩﺗﹶـ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﺷﻴَﺎ َﻋ ُﻬ‬
‫ﻚ ﹶﺍ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻫ ﹶﻠ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ﹶﻧ ﹺﺒ ّﹺﻴ‬
ِ ‫َﺑ ْﻴ‬
O my Allah, and punishment, a warning example, (while ‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﺟَـﻤَﺎ َﻋ ﹶﺘ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﹶْﺑ ﹺﺮﺣُـﻤَﺎﺗﹶـ ُﻬ‬
convicting the tyrants who took liberties with and abused
the children of Thy Prophet; give the earth blow to their
henchmen, put an end to their headmen, wipe out their ‫ﻚ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻭ َﺭﺣْـ َﻤ ِﺘ‬
َ ‫ﺻ ﹶﻠﻮَﺍِﺗ‬
‫ﻒ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭﺿﹶﺎ ِﻋ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
patrons and their groups altogether.
O my Allah, multiply Thy blessings generously, Thy mercy ‫ﻚ ﺍﹾﻟ ِﻌ ﹾﺘ َﺮ ِﺓ ﺍﻟﻀﱠﺎِﺋ َﻌ ِﺔ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠٰﻰ ِﻋ ﹾﺘ َﺮ ِﺓ ﹶﻧ ﹺﺒ ّﹺﻴ‬
َ ‫َﺑ َﺮﻛﹶﺎِﺗ‬
liberally, Thy favours like a windfall, (thou bestows) upon
‫ﻄ ّﹺﻴ َﺒ ِﺔ‬
‫ﺠ َﺮ ِﺓ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ‫ﺸ‬‫ﻦ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺬﱠﻟ ِﺔ َﺑ ِﻘ ﱠﻴ ٍﺔ ِّﻣ‬
‫ﺴ ﹶﺘ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺍﻟﹾـﺨﹶﺂِﺋ ﹶﻔ ِﺔ ﺍﹾﻟ ُﻤ‬
the children of Thy Prophet, who Thy enemies tried to
ignore, frighten and corner, the children who are the ‫ﻞ‬
‫ﺍﻟﺰﱠﺍ ِﻛ َﻴ ِﺔ ﺍﹾﻟ ُﻤﺒَﺎ َﺭ ﹶﻛ ِﺔ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻋ ﹺ‬
blooming pride of the fragrant strongly grown and fertile
‫ﻒ ﺍﹾﻟ َﺒﻠﹶﺂ َﺀ‬
ِ ‫ﺸ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ ﻭَﺍ ﹾﻛ‬
ْ ‫ﺠ ﹶﺘ ُﻬ‬
‫ﺣﱠ‬ُ ‫ﺞ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ﹾﻓ ِﻠ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﹶﻛ ِﻠ َﻤ ﹶﺘ ُﻬ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
tree. Let people subscribe to and uphold,
O my Allah, their expressed refined (thoughts), and get the ‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ َﻭ ﺍﹾﻟ َﻌﻤٰﻰ َﻋ ﹾﻨ ُﻬ‬
‫ﺱ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎﺑَﺎ ِﻃ ْﻴ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﺣﻨﹶﺎ ِﺩ‬
َ ‫َﻭ ﺍﻟ ﱠﻠﺎﻭَﺁ َﺀ َﻭ‬
better of the antagonists in debate and disputations
through their arguments, put the dark clouds of trouble,
‫ﻚ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﻚ َﻋﻠٰﻰ ﻃﹶﺎ َﻋ ِﺘ‬
َ ‫ﺣ ﹾﺰﹺﺑ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ ْﻴ َﻌ ِﺘ ﹺﻬ‬
ِ ‫ﺏ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ﹸﻗ ﹸﻠ ْﻮ‬
‫ﹶﺛ ّﹺﺒ ﹾ‬
distress nothingness and ignorance, to flight, through (on ‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ِﻋ ﹾﻨ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﻻﺗِـ ﹺﻬ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ُﻣﻮَﺍ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺼﺮَﺗ ِـ ﹺﻬ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹸﻧ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﻻَﻳ ِﺘ ﹺﻬ‬
‫ﹺﻭ ﹶ‬
account of) them, make firm and strong the hearts and

minds of their followers (to know things for certain and give
‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹾﻠ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﻭَﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺼ ْﺒ َﺮ َﻋﻠﹶﻰ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎﺫٰﻯ ِﻓ ْﻴ‬
‫ﻢ ﺍﻟ ﱠ‬
ُ ‫ﺤ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﻭَﺍ ْﻣ ﹶﻨ‬
correct answers), to belong to Thy party, obedient to Thee;
to love them; to support them ; stand by them, signify ‫ﺴ ُﻌ ْﻮ َﺩ ﹰﺓ‬
ْ ‫ﺤ ُﻤ ْﻮ َﺩ ﹰﺓ ﱠﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﺸ ُﻬ ْﻮ َﺩ ﹰﺓ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ْﻭﻗﹶﺎﺗﹰﺎ ﻣﱠـ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻳﱠﺎﻣًﺎ ﱠﻣ ﹾ‬
them; they exercised self-control whenever they put up
with damage and injury in Thy cause; bring in, for them,
‫ﺐ ِﻓ ْﻴﻬَﺎ‬
ُ ‫ﺟ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹸﺗ ْﻮ ﹺ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ ُﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ِﻓ ْﻴﻬَﺎ ﹶﻓ َﺮ‬
ُ ‫ﺷ‬
ِ ‫ﹸﺗ ْﻮ‬
the days, people will see them and find them among ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ِﻟ ﹶﺎ ْﻭِﻟﻴٰﺂِﺋ‬
‫ﺿ ِﻤ ﹾﻨ ﹶ‬
‫ﻢ ﹶﻛﻤَﺎ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺼ َﺮ ُﻫ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﻧ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﻜ ْﻴ ﹶﻨ ُﻬ‬
ِ ‫ﺗﹶـ ْﻤ‬
themselves to pronounce the profession of true faith, a
blissful and happy time; Be quick in providing relief and joy, ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻭ ﹶﻗ ْﻮﹸﻟ‬
‫ﻚ ﹸﻗ ﹾﻠ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ﹶﻓ ِﺎﱠﻧ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤ ﹾﻨ ﹶﺰ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﻰ ِﻛﺘﹶﺎﹺﺑ‬
ْ ‫ِﻓ‬
after a long period of suffering (to them and us), on
‫ﻢ َﻭ َﻋ ِﻤﻠﹸﻮﺍ‬
ْ‫ﻜ‬
‫ﻦ ﺍٰ َﻣ ﹸﻨﻮْﺍ ِﻣ ﹾﻨ ﹸ‬
َ ‫ﺬْﻳ‬
ِ ‫ﷲ ﺍﱠﻟ‬
ُ ‫ﺪﺍ‬
َ ‫ﻖ َﻭ َﻋ‬
‫ﺤ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﹾـ‬
account of their presence; bring on their worthy, decent
and refined sphere of influence; and support them as Thou ‫ﺽ ﹶﻛﻤَﺎ‬
‫ﻢ ﻓِﻰ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎ ْﺭ ﹺ‬
ْ ‫ﺨ ِﻠ ﹶﻔ ﱠﻨ ُﻬ‬
‫ﺴ ﹶﺘ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ﹶﻟ َﻴ‬
ِ ٰ‫ﺼٰ ِﻠﺤ‬
‫ﺍﻟ ﹼ‬
has given a guarantee in this connection in Thy revealed
‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ﻟﹶـ ُﻬ‬ ‫ﻜ ﹶﻨ ﱠ‬
ِّ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﻟ ُﻴ َﻤ‬ْ ‫ﻦ ﹶﻗ ْﺒ ِﻠ ﹺﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺬْﻳ‬
ِ ‫ﻒ ﺍﱠﻟ‬
َ ‫ﺨ ﹶﻠ‬
‫ﺳ ﹶﺘ ﹾ‬
ْ‫ﺍ‬
Book; Thou said, (and Thy words are always true): Allah
has promised such of you as believe and do good deed that ‫ﻢ ّﹺﻡ ْۢن‬
ْ ‫ﺪﻟﹶـ ﱠﻨ ُﻬ‬
ِّ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﻟ ُﻴ َﺒ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﺍﱠﻟﺬِﻯ ﺍ ْﺭﹶﺗﻀٰﻰ ﻟﹶـ ُﻬ‬ ُ ‫ِﺩْﻳ ﹶﻨ ُﻬ‬
He will surely appoint them successors in the earth, as He
appointed successors those before them, and that He will
‫ﻰ‬
ْ ‫ﻥ ﹺﺑ‬
َ ‫ﺸ ﹺﺮ ﹸﻛ ْﻮ‬
‫ﻻ ُﻳ ﹾ‬
‫ﻰ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ْﻭﹶﻧ ﹺﻨ‬
ُ ‫ﻢ ﹶﺍ ْﻣﻨﹰﺎ ﱠﻳ ْﻌ ُﺒ‬
ْ ‫ﺧ ْﻮ ِﻓ ﹺﻬ‬
‫ﺪ ﹶ‬
ِ ‫َﺑ ْﻌ‬
surely establish for them Their religion which He has chosen ‫ﺷ ْﻴﺌﹰﺎ‬
‫ﹶ‬
for them, and surely He will give them in exchange safety
after their fear. Thy (shall) ascribe nothing as partner unto
Me. ‫ﻚ‬
ُ ‫ﻻ ﻳَـ ْﻤ ِﻠ‬
‫ﻦ ﱠ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﻳَﺎ َﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﻒ ﹸﻏ ﱠﻤ ﹶﺘ ُﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﺸ‬
ِ ‫ﻢ ﻓﹶﺎ ﹾﻛ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
O my Allah! Therefore disperse the dark clouds hanging
‫ﻰ ﻳَﺎ‬
‫ﺣ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ﻳَﺎ‬
ُ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ﻳَﺎ ﹶﺍ‬
ُ‫ﺣ‬
ِ ‫ﻻ ُﻫ َﻮ ﻳَﺎ ﻭَﺍ‬
‫ﻀ ّﹺﺮ ِﺍ ﱠ‬
‫ﻒ ﺍﻟ ﱡ‬
َ ‫ﺸ‬
‫ﹶﻛ ﹾ‬
over them, no one has power to keep safe from pair and
distress save He, O Unique ! O Single ! O Everliving ! O ‫ﹶﻗ ﱡﻴ ْﻮ ُﻡ‬
Self-subsisting!I, O my Allah, Thy bondman, cautions and
(always) aware of Thy just requital, turn to Thee with a
‫ﻊ‬
ُ‫ﺟ‬
‫ﻚ ﻭَﺍﻟﺮﱠﺍ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﻒ ِﻣ ﹾﻨ‬
ُ ‫ﻙ ﺍﻟﹾـﺨﹶﺂِﺋ‬
َ ‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﻰ َﻋ ْﺒ‬
ْ ‫َﻭﹶﺍﻧﹶﺎ ﻳَﺎ ِﺍﻟٰـ ﹺﻬ‬
request, standing before Thee, to seek the favour of taking ‫ﺊ ِﺍﻟٰﻰ‬
‫ﺟ ﹸ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﺎ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﻞ َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤ ﹾﻘ ﹺﺒ ﹸ‬
َ ‫ﻞ ﹶﻟ‬
‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﺴﱠﺂِﺋ ﹸ‬
َ ‫ِﺍﹶﻟ ْﻴ‬
refuge with Thee, in Thy courtyard, fully aware of the fact
that there is no way to run away from Thee except unto
‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻻ ِﺍﹶﻟ ْﻴ‬
‫ﻚ ِﺍ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ﹶﺄ ِﻣ ﹾﻨ‬
َ ‫ﻻ َﻣ ﹾﻠ‬
‫ﻥهٗ ﹶ‬
‫ﻢ ﹺﺑ ﹶﺎ ﱠ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﺍﹾﻟﻌَﺎِﻟ‬
َ ‫ِﻓﻨﹶﺂِﺋ‬
Thee. O my Allah, accede to my request, take notice of my ‫ﻰ‬
ْ ‫ﻊ ﻳَﺎ ِﺍﻟٰـ ﹺﻬ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ ﻭَﺍﺳْـ َﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ ُﺩﻋَﺂِﺋ‬
‫ﻢ ﹶﻓ ﹶﺘ ﹶﻘ ﱠﺒ ﹾ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
positive statement and heartfelt secret avowal,
O my Allah, and let me be the one whose conduct satisfies
‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ ﻣِـ ﱠﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹾﻠ ﹺﻨ‬
ْ ‫ﻯ ﻭَﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺠﻮَﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ َﻭ ﻧﹶـ‬
ْ ‫ﻼﹺﻧﻴَـﺘِـ‬
‫َﻋ ﹶ‬
Thee, (whose) pious life devoted to Thee receives Thy ٗ‫ﺖه‬
‫ﺠ ْﻴ ﹶ‬
‫ﻚهٗ َﻭ ﻧﹶـ ﱠ‬
َ ‫ﺴ‬
ُ ‫ﺖ ﹸﻧ‬
‫ﻞهٗ َﻭ ﹶﻗ ﹺﺒ ﹾﻠ ﹶ‬
‫ﺖ َﻋ َﻤ ﹶ‬
‫ﺿ ْﻴ ﹶ‬
ِ ‫َﺭ‬
approval, (whom) Thou brings to a place of safety through
Thy mercy; verily Thou art rare, dear and beloved (because ‫ﻢ‬
ُ ‫ﻜ ﹺﺮْﻳ‬
‫ﺖ ﺍﹾﻟ َﻌ ﹺﺰْﻳ ﹸﺰ ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶ‬
‫ﻚ ﹶﺍﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ِﺍﱠﻧ‬
َ ‫ﺑﹺ َﺮﺣْـ َﻤ ِﺘ‬
of ) Thy kindness.
‫ﻝ‬
‫ﺪ ﱠﻭﺍٰ ﹺ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺧﺮًﺍ َﻋﻠٰﻰ ُﻣ‬
ِ ٰ‫ﻻ َﻭ ﺍ‬
‫ﻞ ﹶﺍ ﱠﻭ ﹰ‬
‫ﺻ ّﹺ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
O my Allah, send blessings, in the beginning and at the
end, on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad; ‫ﻢ‬
ْ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫ﺪ ﻭَﺍ ْﺭ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
‫ﺪ ﱠﻭ ﺍٰ ﹺ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻙ ﻋَﻠﻰٰ ُﻣ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ َﻭ ﺑَﺎ ﹺﺭ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ُﻣ‬
keep at peace at all times, Muhammad and the children of
‫ﺖ‬
‫ﺻ ﱠﻠ ْﻴ ﹶ‬
‫ﻞ ﻣَﺎ ﹶ‬
‫ﻀ ﹺ‬
‫ﻞ َﻭ ﹶﺍ ﹾﻓ ﹶ‬
‫ﺪ ﹺﺑ ﹶﺎ ﹾﻛ َﻤ ﹺ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
‫ﺤ ﱠﻤﺪًﺍ ﱠﻭ ﺍٰ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ُﻣ‬

Muhammad, let Thy love and tenderness always envelop
‫ﻚ َﻭ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ِﻠ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ َﻭ ُﺭ‬
َ ‫ﺖ َﻋﻠٰﻰ ﹶﺍﹾﻧ ﹺﺒﻴَﺂِﺋ‬
‫ﺖ َﻭ ﹶﺗ َﺮﺣﱠـ ْﻤ ﹶ‬
‫َﻭ ﺑَﺎ َﺭ ﹾﻛ ﹶ‬
Muhammad and the children of Muhammad, more
thoroughly and decisively than Thou had blessed, kept at ‫ﺖ‬
‫ﻚ ﹺﺑﻠﹶﺂ ِﺍﻟٰ َﻪ ِﺍﻟﱠﺂ ﹶﺍﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﺷ‬
ِ ‫ﻚ َﻭ ﺣَـ َﻤ ﹶﻠ ِﺔ َﻋ ْﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻜ ِﺘ‬
‫َﻣﻠﹶﺂِﺋ ﹶ‬
peace and loved Thy Prophets, Messengers, Angels and the
bearers of Thy Arsh, in the name of and for the sake of
“LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA”.
‫ﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻝ ُﻣ‬
‫ﺪ ﱠﻭ ﺍٰ ﹺ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻦ ُﻣ‬
َ ‫ﻰ َﻭ َﺑ ْﻴ‬
ْ ‫ﻕ َﺑ ْﻴ ﹺﻨ‬
ْ ‫ﻻ ﹸﺗ ﹶﻔ ّﹺﺮ‬
‫ﻢ ﹶ‬
‫ﺍﹶﻟ ﹼﻠٰ ُﻬ ﱠ‬
O my Allah, let there be no separation (ever) between me ‫ﻯ‬
َ ‫ﻻ‬
‫ﻰ ﻳَﺎ َﻣ ْﻮ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ َﻌ ﹾﻠ ﹺﻨ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ ﻭَﺍ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ َﻭ َﻋ ﹶﻠ ْﻴ ﹺﻬ‬
َ ‫ﺻ ﹶﻠﻮَﺍﹸﺗ‬
‫ﹶ‬
and Muhammad and the children of Muhammad, Thy
blessings be on him and them; let me be one among the ‫ﻦ َﻭ‬
‫ﺴ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
َ ‫ﻰ ﱠﻭ ﻓﹶﺎ ِﻃ َﻤ ﹶﺔ َﻭ ﺍﹾﻟ‬
‫ﺪ ﱠﻭ َﻋ ِﻠ ّﹴ‬
ٍ ‫ﺤ ﱠﻤ‬
َ ‫ﺷ ْﻴ َﻌ ِﺔ ُﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ‬
ْ ‫ِﻣ‬
friends and followers of Muhammad, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan
‫ﺐ‬
ْ ‫ﺠ َﺒ ِﺔ َﻭ َﻫ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ﺍﻟﻄﱠﺎ ِﻫ َﺮ ِﺓ ﺍﻟﹾـ ُﻤ ﹾﻨ ﹶﺘ‬
‫ﻦ َﻭ ﹸﺫ ّﹺﺭﱠﻳ ِﺘ ﹺﻬ ﹺ‬
‫ﺴ ْﻴ ﹺ‬
َ ‫ﺤ‬
ُ ‫ﺍﹾﻟ‬
and Husayn, and their pure and select descendants; give
me the insight to cling to their friendship, and be always ‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﺴ ﹺﺒ ْﻴ ِﻠ ﹺﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﺍﻟ ّﹺﺮﺿﹶﺎ ﹺﺑ‬
ْ ‫ﺤ ْﺒ ِﻠ ﹺﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺑﹺـ‬
َ ‫ﺴ‬
‫ﻰ ﺍﻟ ﱠﺘ َﻤ ﱡ‬
َ ِ‫ﻟ‬
ready to walk with them, and make use of their life style;
.ٌ‫ﺟ َﻮﺍ ٌﺩ ﹶﻛ ﹺﺮْﻳﻢ‬
َ ‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﻢ ِﺍﱠﻧ‬
ْ ‫ﻄ ﹺﺮْﻳ ﹶﻘ ِﺘ ﹺﻬ‬
‫ﺬ ﹺﺑ ﹶ‬
‫ﺧﹶ‬
‫ﺍﹾﻟ ﹶﺎ ﹾ‬
Verily Thou art liberal, Generous and Kind,

Now go into prostration (Sajdah), keep either side of your face on the earth, one after the other, and say

O He who decrees that which He wills, does that which He

‫ﺖ‬
‫ﺪ ﹶﺍﹾﻧ ﹶ‬
ُ ‫ﻞ ﻣَﺎ ُﻳ ﹺﺮْﻳ‬
‫ﻢ ﻣَﺎ َﻳﺸﹶﺂ ُﺀ َﻭ َﻳ ﹾﻔ َﻌ ﹸ‬
ُ‫ﻜ‬
‫ﺤﹸ‬ْ ‫ﻦ َﻳ‬
ْ ‫ﻳَﺎ َﻣ‬
wants. It is Thou who possesses and exercises absolute power;
therefore (all) praise is for Thee (only); (Thou alone art) the ‫ﻜ ْﻮ ًﺭ‬
‫ﺸﹸ‬‫ﺤ ُﻤ ْﻮﺩًﺍ ﱠﻣ ﹾ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ﻣَـ‬
ُ ‫ﺤ ْﻤ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﺍﻟﹾـ‬
َ ‫ﺖ ﹶﻓ ﹶﻠ‬
‫ﻜ ْﻤ ﹶ‬
‫ﺣﹶ‬َ
praiseworthy, the thankworthy.

O my Master, let them have a life full of love and peace, and let
‫ﻢ‬
ْ ‫ﺟﻨﹶﺎﹺﺑ ﹺﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹶﻓ َﺮ‬
ْ ‫ﺟ ُﻬ‬
َ ‫ﻯ ﹶﻓ َﺮ‬
َ ‫ﻻ‬
‫ﻞ ﻳَﺎ َﻣ ْﻮ ﹶ‬
‫ﺠ ﹾ‬
‫ﺍ ﹶﻓ َﻌ ّﹺ‬
us share the harmony and bliss with them, because Thou has ‫ﺬﱠﻟ ِﺔ َﻭ‬
ِّ ‫ﺪ ﺍﻟ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﺑ ْﻌ‬
ْ ‫ﺖ ِﺍ ْﻋﺰﹶﺍ ﹶﺯ ُﻫ‬
‫ﺿ ِﻤ ﹾﻨ ﹶ‬
‫ﻚ ﹶ‬
َ ‫ﹶﻓ ِﺎﱠﻧ‬
given a guarantee to put them on the highest pedestal of love,
honour and wisdom, after the severest trial and tribulation, to ‫ﺪ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﺑ ْﻌ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ ﺍﹾﻟ ِﻘ ﱠﻠ ِﺔ َﻭ ِﺍ ﹾﻇﻬَﺎ َﺭ ُﻫ‬
َ ‫ﻢ َﺑ ْﻌ‬
ْ ‫ﻜ ِﺜ ْﻴ َﺮ ُﻫ‬
‫ﹶﺗ ﹾ‬
do too much for them , exceeding all bounds, after they had put
‫ﻢ‬
َ‫ﺣ‬
َ ‫ﻦ َﻭ ﻳَﺎ ﹶﺍ ْﺭ‬
َ ‫ﻕ ﺍﻟﺼﱠﺎ ِﺩ ِﻗ ْﻴ‬
َ‫ﺪ‬َ‫ﺻ‬
‫ﻝ ﻳَﺎ ﹶﺍ ﹾ‬
‫ﺨ ُﻤ ْﻮ ﹺ‬
‫ﺍﹾﻟ ﹸ‬
up with the worldly minimum (in Thy cause), to make them
distinct and evident after (Thy enemies) kept them in obscurity, ‫ﻦ‬
َ ‫ﺍﻟﺮﱠﺍﺣِـ ِﻤ ْﻴ‬
O the Most Truthful ! O the Most Merciful!

‫ﻀ ّﹺﺮﻋًﺎ‬
‫ﻯ ُﻣ ﹶﺘ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﺳ ّﹺﻴ‬
َ ‫ﻰ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ ﻳَﺎ ِﺍﻟٰـ ﹺﻬ‬
َ ‫ﺳ ﹶﺌ ﹸﻠ‬
ْ ‫ﹶﻓ ﹶﺎ‬
I beseech Thee, O my Lord, and Master, humble and weak
before Thee, to throw wide open doors of Thy generosity and ‫ﻰ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻂ ﹶﺍ َﻣ ِﻠ‬
‫ﺴ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﻚ َﺑ‬
َ ‫ﻙ َﻭ ﹶﻛ َﺮ ِﻣ‬
َ ‫ﺠ ْﻮ ِﺩ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ ﺑﹺـ‬
َ ‫ِﺍﹶﻟ ْﻴ‬
kindness to let my hope (of fulfillment of heart’s desires) come
‫ﻰ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻞ َﻋ َﻤ ِﻠ‬
‫ﻝ ﹶﻗ ِﻠ ْﻴ ﹺ‬
‫ﻰ َﻭ ﹶﻗ ُﺒ ْﻮ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺗﹶـﺠَﺎ ُﻭ ﹶﺯ َﻋ ّﹺﻨ‬
true, and get and gather what I want in surplus; and make valid
my deeds, whether insignificant looking or weighty, prolong my ٖ‫ﻚ ﹶﻛ ِﺜ ْﻴ ﹺﺮه‬
َ ‫ﻰ ﺫِٰﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ َﻭ ﹶﺗ ْﺒ ِﻠ ْﻴ ِﻐ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ ﹶﺍﻳﱠﺎ ِﻣ‬
ْ ‫َﻭ ﺍﻟ ّﹺﺰﻳَﺎ َﺩ ﹶﺓ ِﻓ‬
days until I am satisfied with being an eye-witness, and give
testimony, and be among those who are called upon, so run to
‫ﺪﻋٰﻰ‬
ْ ‫ﻦ ُﻳ‬
ْ ‫ﻰ ﻣِـ ﱠﻤ‬
ْ ‫ﺠ َﻌ ﹶﻠ ﹺﻨ‬
ْ ‫ﻥ ﺗﹶـ‬
ْ ‫ﺪ َﻭ ﹶﺍ‬
َ ‫ﺸ َﻬ‬
‫ﺍﻟﹾـ َﻤ ﹾ‬
obey them, love them and support them (the descendents of ‫ﻢ َﻭ‬
ْ ‫ﻻﺗِـ ﹺﻬ‬
‫ﻢ َﻭ ُﻣﻮَﺍ ﹶ‬
ْ ‫ﺐ ِﺍﻟٰﻰ ﻃﹶﺎ َﻋ ِﺘ ﹺﻬ‬
ُ ‫ﺠ ْﻴ‬
‫ﹶﻓ ُﻴ ﹺ‬

the Holy Prophet); Make me see that very soon, close at hand,
‫ﻰ‬
ْ ‫ﺳ ﹺﺮْﻳﻌًﺎ ِﻓ‬
َ ‫ﻚ ﹶﻗ ﹺﺮْﻳﺒًﺎ‬
َ ‫ﻰ ﺫِٰﻟ‬
ْ ‫ﻢ َﻭ ﹸﺗ ﹺﺮَﻳ ﹺﻨ‬
ْ ‫ﺼ ﹺﺮ ِﻫ‬
‫ﻧﹶ ﹾ‬
in good health sound mind and with believing heart. Verily Thou
art able to do all things ‫ﺪْﻳ ٌﺮ‬
ِ ‫ﻰ ٍﺀ ﹶﻗ‬
ْ ‫ﺷ‬
‫ﻞ ﹶ‬
‫ﻚ َﻋﻠٰﻰ ﹸﻛ ّﹺ‬
َ ‫ﻋَﺎ ِﻓ َﻴ ٍﺔ ِﺍﱠﻧ‬.

raise your head, look towards the sky and say

in Thee do I seek refuge that I should be among those

who hope not for Thy “Days”, so make me full well and
be there, O my Master, through Thy mercy, in that
time. 

Transliteration

ALLAAHUMMA INNA KATHEERAM MINAL UMMATI NAAS’ABATIL MUSTAH’FIZ’EENA MINAL A-IMMATI WA AFARAT BIL
KALIMATI WA A’KAFAT A’LAL QAADATIZ’ Z’ALAMATI WA HAJARATIL ITAABA WAS SUNNAATA WA A’DALAT A’NIL H’ABLAYNIL
LAD’EENA AMARTA BI-T’AA-A’TIHIMAA WAT TAMASSUKI BIHIMAA FA-AMAATATIL H’AQQA WA H’AAD’AT A’NIL QAS’DI WA MAA
LA-ATIL AH’ZAABI WA H’ARRAFATIL KITAABA WA KAFARAT BIL H’AQQI LAMMAA JAA-AHAA WA TAMASSAKAT BIL BAAT’ILI
LAMMAA AA’-TARAZ”AHAA WA Z”AYYA-A’T H’AQQAKA WA AZ”ALLAT KHALQAKA WA QATALAT AWLAADA NABIYYIKA WA
KHIYARATA I’BAADIKA WA H’AMALATA I’LMIKA WA WARATHATA H’IKMATIKA WA WAH’EEKA ALLAAHUMA FA-ZALZIL
AQDAAMA AA’-DAAA-IKA WA AA’-DAAA-I RASOOLIKA WA AHLI BAYTI RASOOLIKA ALLAAHUMMA WA AKHRIB DIYAARAHUM
WAF-LUL SILAAH’AHUM WA KHAALIF BAYNA KALIMATIHIM WA FUTTA FEE AA’-Z”AADIHIM WA AWHIM KAYDAHUM WAZ”-
RIBHUM BI-SAYFIKAR QAAT’I-I’

WAR-MIHIM BI-H’AJARIKAD DAAMIGHI WA T’UMMAHUM BI-BALAA-I T’AMMAA WA QUMMAHUM BIL-A’DAABI QAMMAA WA

A’D’D’IBHUM A’D’AABAN NUKRAA WA KHUD’HUM BIS SINEENA WAL MUTHALAATIL LATEE AHLAKTA BIHAA AA’-DAA-AKA

(Now go into prostration (Sajdah), keep either side of your face on the earth, one after the other, and say):

YAA MAN YAH’KUMU MAA YASHAAA-U WA YAF-A’LU MAA YUREEDU ANTA H’AKAMTA FALAKAL H’AMDU MAH’MOODAN
MASHKOORAA FA-A’JJIL YAA MAWLAAYA FARAJAHUM WA FARAJANAA BIHIM FA-INNAKA Z”AMINTA IA’-ZAAZAHUM BAA’-
DA’D’ILLATI WA TAKTHEERAHUM BAA’-DAL QILLATI WA IZ’HAARAHUM BAA’-DAL KHUMOOL YAA AS’DAQAS’ S’AADIQEEN WA
YAA ARH’AMAR RAAH’IMEEN FA-AS-ALUKA YAA ILAAHEE WA SAYYIDEE MUTAZ”ARRI-A’N ILAYKA BI-JOODIKA WA KARAMIKA
BAST’A AMALEE WAT TAJAAWUZA A’NNEE WA QABOOLA QALEELI A’MALEE WA KATHEERIHEE WAZ ZIYAADAT FEE AYYAAMEE
WA TABLEEGHEE D’AALIKAL MASH-HAD WA AN TAJ-A’LANEE MIMMAN YUD-A’A FA –YUJEEBU ILAA T’AA-A’TIHIM WA
MAWAALAATIHIM WA NAS’RIHIM WA TURIYANEE D’AALIKA QAREEBAN SAREE-A’N FEE A’AFIYATIN INNAKA A’LAA KULLI
SHAY-IN QADEER
(raise your head, look towards the sky and say):A-O’OD’U BIKA AN AKOONA MINALLAD’EENA LAA YARJOONA AYYAAMAKA FA-A-
I’D’NEE YAA ILAAHEE BI-RAH’MATIKA MIN D’AALIKA

Al‐Qama says: I asked [Imām ‘Alī al‐Bāqir (a.s.)], “May I be sacrificed on you! What about one who is in distant lands 
and far off countries and cannot travel to him on that day ?”   

Imām Muhammad ibn ‘Alī al-Bāqir (A.S.) said: "On Ashura Day, before noon, he should go to a
desert or an elevated portion of his house and recite salutations to Imam Husain (a.s.), curse his
killers excessively and pray two Rakats prayers. Then he should mourn and lament over Imam Husain (a.s.),
order everyone in his house to lament him, hold a gathering in his house narrating Imam Husain’s tragedies
and become restless on the tragedies of the Imam (a.s.), meet one another weeping and consoling one
another over the Imam’s tragedies. If they do so, I guarantee that the Almighty Allāh will record all of those
