Leadership and management

In start of my job, I was a hard worker but not very punctual in meeting my deadlines. In initial
days of month, I used to work lesser than required. Aversely, in last days, I had to do work late
at night. But gradually I observed that I should be a good planner to do my work in a better way.
With proper planning and implementation, I was able to work evenly all the days of assignment
which results in less pressure on me. It used to give me enough free time to help my coworkers.
From this mangers and team workers started relying more on me.

I learnt that what I did twenty percent of the time would affect eighty percent of my outcomes.
‘Crossing my T’s and dotting my i’s.’

For example I make regular notes in meetings and general activities. It keeps my mind focused
on what is required. From this way the quality of my work has improved because the end
product remained focal point. For example during batching and coding of invoices in accounts
payable, I was aware of areas where errors could be made when entering a high volume of
data.

When the quality of my work is up to standard as part of a team effort, it increases the quality of
the team as a whole.

By completing work on time, other parts of the accounting department workings that depend on
my work being finished can proceed without delay. In accounts payable for example if
transaction queries are looked into and resolved on time. The relevant invoices can be put on
the payment run and another team member will not have to be taken away from other duties to
handle queries from the client who hasn’t received payment had there been a delay

In Bestway cement ltd several people working within one department, performing connected
tasks. The overall performance of the department is based on how efficient each team member
is. So by making an effort of insuring that I was performing at my best will contribute to overall
goals of the organization.

When I started job my boss constantly took me to networking events from where I learnt how to
forge connections with strangers, confidently initiate conversations. And these are the key skills
for leaders. So I always used to guide my co-workers to effectively network as soon as possible.

Ownership mentality starts from trusting employees and giving them authority to make certain
decisions. I learned this when my manager was out of town. I was put in charge of client event.
With no one else to lean on, I make decisions on my own. This makes me confident.

I always try to collaborate with my coworker as every individual brings a different skill to the
table. Its make our work easier and problem solving becomes simpler. It increases the
motivation along with productivity.

Conclusion

Leadership tool can improve both organizational success and team performance by improving
proficiency levels.
