This Latin American Technical Information provides an example on how to change the default
language English UK to a different supported language in the SL 2100 Built-in InMail when no
SD card is installed.

INTRODUCTION
The built-in InMail is included in the SL2100 by default. The InMail/VRS comes with English UK
preinstalled in all new systems by default and it supports one language prompt at a time. It is
required to use WebPro access to change the installed language prompt to any one of the
supported languages including Spanish and Portuguese.
CONDITIONS
The Procedure to change language to the Built-in InMail can only be used when the NEC
SD Drive Based InMail (IP7WW-SDVMS-C1/IP7WW-SDVML-C1) is not installed.
If Voice Prompt language is changed in 40-07-01 and the language selected is not the
one that is installed the system, the Voice Mail can be accessed but it will stay in
silence.
The system must be reset after successfully uploading the language in order for the
new language prompt set to take effect.
If personal Mailbox in 47-02-16 language is changed to something other than what is
loaded in the SL2100 CPU, the language selected will be ignored and it will follow the
language that is loaded in the CPU.
Only one language prompt set can be loaded on the Built-In InMail.
There are 26 languages to be selected from the list:
PROCEDURE
1. Download the file named “SL2100_Builtin_InMail_Prompts.zip” from NEC Anytime site and
upload it in the PC that you will be using to connect via Web Pro to the NEC SL2100.
2. Access via Web Pro to the SL2100 by using: user= tech ad password = 12345678
3. Click on the VM Maint. Icon, you will be taken to the VM Maintenance Menu.
5. Once you are in the Replace Prompt menu select Choose File.
6. Browse to language prompt file location on your PC re using to connect via WebPro. The
language prompt file Choose language prompt file to upload from the list. In this case Latin
American Spanish, and click Open.
7. Click on Upload.
8. The prompt upload will start and a notification will indicate that the language prompt are
being replaced
9. Once the upload process has concluded you will see a success message indication in
WebPro.
