“Power generation using see-saw mechanism” uses the energy which gets
wasted during the clutch operation. This project generates the electricity by using the
energy stored in the wheel.
If clutch pedal is not pressed then engine shaft and wheel shaft both are coupled.
In this state motion is transferred from engine to the wheel. But when the clutch pedal is
pressed, the engine shaft and wheel shaft will get disengaged. Hence no motion will be
transferred. But during this state wheel of the vehicle have momentum and energy is
stored in it which is not utilized nowadays. A large amount of electricity can be
generated by using a certain mechanism. So, this project deals with the generation of
electricity during clutch operation.
In this project we have used a dc motor as an engine to provide the motion to the
wheel. And we have made an arrangement such that the pulley which is attached to the
wheel shaft will engage with the dynamo during the clutch being operated. This dynamo
will used the energy gain by the wheel and will generate electricity. In this project the
components used are as follows: transformer, rectifier, shaft, pulley, wheel, DC motor,
rope drive, bearings, dynamo, multimeter, wire, welding device etc… Here the name
see-saw mechanism is given because the arrangement we have used is of the shape of
see-saw game played by the children.
This project will help in increasing the life of brake shoes as the see- saw
mechanism also produces braking effect. Also this will increase the efficiency of engine
by removing the alternator which is used for starting of the vehicle. (P. Singh, Pramanik,

Fabrication of Swing Motion Power Generation
http://www.ijlera.com/papers/v2-i5/part-III/A3.pdf
The Play Park Human Powered Generator project addresses various ways of
generating power. More specifically, this project entails the design and construction of
the Swing Power Generator to provide electrical power from mechanical energy. The
swing generator will eventually be used as part of the human-powered generators
utilized in the DC House project.
A swing generator prototype was built for this project, which demonstrates the
feasibility of its use for electrical power source. Detailed design and construction of the
swing generator is presented in this report along with results from hardware testing.

Now a day conventional energy sources are few in nature, they are decreasing
day by day. It is needed to find out new energy sources. Children play is best sources to
generate electricity. This paper is related to design and fabrication of swing to generate
electricity. To convert oscillatory motion of swing in to rotary motion of bicycle wheel and
dynamo is connected to bicycle wheel and dynamo convert the mechanical energy into
electrical energy. This is very useful in the purpose of lightening of garden. Children can
enjoy swing and can also useful in generation of electricity. It will reduce the energy
consumption required to lightening the garden at the night. Paper contains design
calculations, results for fabrication of swing. Project contains the use of sprocket, chain
wheel, bicycle wheel, bearings, dynamo, rectifier, battery and LED bulb etc. (Goyrak,
