Unity for Women Equality

Women are strong. Women are extraordinary. Women can also even do a lot of things that men
can. Despite these, however, violence against women has never ceased in being one of the pressing issue
of our society. I believe that today is the optimal stage to strictly implement the legislated laws to put an
end to this incessant anxiety elicited the manifestation of historically unequal power relations between
men and women. Having many forms than one, women oppression may be regarded as something
insignificant by the a lot. Reality is, violence are not those just that can be physically seen. Sometimes, it
happens in closed doors and quite nights under the pretense of a peaceful family life. We, women cannot
do this alone. If we really wanted to have the equality that we seek, we must all unite. Violence against
women cannot be tolerated in any form, in any context, in any circumstances, by any political leads or by
any government.

Depression Affliction

A person’s life is unpredictable. Sometimes uncontrollable. Probably a little vulnerable. We never

know what will happen to each and every one as we try to conquer the challenge that we call life. In some
cases, when life becomes too heavy for one to handle, one just choose to end his life and end his suffering.
Unfortunately, this issue is no stranger to the Capiznons. To address the high number of recent suicide in
Roxas City, a team has been formed to draw up ways to prevent future such incidents. I personally applaud
those who admit that they are going through something. Admitting having such feelings are not to be
looked down upon and make fun of. It takes strength and courage be able to admit that you are having a
hard time. A second is all that it takes to decide that you want to end your life, and it is also a second to
just connect to someone and check on them. It is best to spread awareness and end the stigma regarding
one’s mental health.

Acceptance not Tolerance

Who to love; what to wear; how to present ourselves to the society – these cannot be a big deal,
right? Love is a human experience not a political statement, clothes are just clothes, and character is much
more important than physical appearance. However, why does the LGBTQ+ community face
discrimination in the pursuance of how they identify as a person? Personally, I do not see any fault in
being a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer. The discrimination of LGBT representatives is a
serious concern especially when it comes to quality pursuing. We are all humans, we are all of the same
species, we just really have to get over the fact that yes, the LGBTQ+ community exists and there is really
nothing good that will happen if we resist this existence. At the end of the day, men, women, LGBTQ+ or
not, it all comes down to us being all humans. Being human entitles each and every one of us to be given
respect despite our differences.
