Topic Note: Find the Odd one out


The idea behind this category of questions is similar to that of Sequencing / Trends & Relationships.
In this category of questions, the student is provided with 4 options out of which three are related to
each other, while the fourth one is different. The student needs to find out the option which is different
than the other 3.

Some of the parameters which a child could look at while evaluating the odd one out are as
follows:
 Size / colour of various figures
 Characteristic of various figures e.g. all capital letters, all small letters, etc
 One of the pic may have some part missing and hence could be the odd one out
 Common category – eg all musical instruments or all things worn on head, etc
 Number of certain objects in the picture – eg number of lines, number of squares, etc
