Screen exposing

1) Mix sensitizer with the super coating solution and add 18 drops of bichromate per 20gm of the
solution.

2) Shake vessel well so that solution gets mixed with bichromate properly. You must perform this
activity in a dark room to avoid the formation of air bubbles in the mixture.

3) Spread the coater solution on screen and coat the whole screen with it using a fibre. Keep the fibre at
45° and move it from top to bottom and left to right to spread it well on the screen. Do the same thing
on the back side of the screen.

4) To remove the extra solution from the screen, wipe the screen with fibre at 90° the same way as done
before. You must note to perform this activity in a dark room only.

5) After coating, dry out the screen with the help of a blower. In meanwhile, paste the design on the
print table with the help of transparent tape.

6) When frame completely dries out, put it on the design and keep a black paper on the back side of the
frame. Cover the whole print table with a black cloth so that light didn't come out. Put the sand over the
black cloth that we stick at the back side of the frame to maintain the pressure so that the screen and
design are in contact with each other. Turn on the lights of the print table and wait for 10 minutes.

7) After 10 minutes, turn off the lights of the print table and remove the black cloth along with sand.
Take out the screen and spray water on it to make the content visible on it. During this procedure, a
solution of the print area get removed and remaining portion of the screen gets blocked. Left out the
screen for one day to dry well.

Screen Opaque
1) After screen expose is done, there are still some pinholes left that are meant to be solid and you
might find some solid areas on the print area that are meant to be clear. To make the screen perfect for
design printing, we coat the specified areas of the screen and this process is known as opaque.

2) We’ll need to fill any holes either with a filler made for that purpose or with tape. Make sure the lines
of the stencil are crisp and clear and that all of the fine details are distinct. We can use a sharp needle to
clear the blocked holes in the print area.

3) Leave it to dry again and after drying out the screen, check it well whether it is dry or still wet. If it is
wet, then dry it using the blower and proceed.

4) Paste non-transparent tape on the edges of the side of the screen where printing is to be done to
avoid the dispersion of colour outside the print area.

DESIGN PRINTING
1) Before printing the design on the screen, make sure to paste some pieces of cardboard on all four
corners of the screen with the help of tape to elevate the screen above the glass of table.

2) Place the screen over the table with the help of G-clant. Spread the ink on the back side of the frame
using a knife.

3) Take the print on a rough piece of paper. To do this, spread ink on design using squeegee and place
paper below the screen.

4) Apply pressure and pull squeegee at an angle of 45° towards yourself. Print will become more clear
after repeating the same procedure for 4-5 times on rough papers.

5) After getting the desired results, mark the measurements on the table to get the perfect design on
the screen. It will avoid distorted design printing on the screen.

6) If screen started to dry, then clean it with amyl acetate. Use reducer to make ink thinner in case it
becomes thick.

7) You can use this procedure to print any design you want. Use bleaching powder to clean the screen
well in case you need to expose any other design on the same screen.

BLEACHING
1) Mix bleaching powder with water and form a liquid solution. Use cotton to spread the solution on
screen. Leave it to dry.

2) After drying out the screen, rub both sides of the screen with bleaching powder and amyl acetate
using hands. Wash the screen with water.

3) Wash the screen again using bleaching powder only. Repeat this step again and again till the screen is
properly cleaned.

4) If there is a thick coating on the screen, you can apply liquid bleaching powder again and repeat the
above steps to make it clean.

5) After cleaning the screen properly, leave it to dry and after drying, you can use the screen again to
expose a new design on it.
