Satanic/Occult Symbols and Their Meanings

Symbols represent strong presence in and/or authority over the item/person to

which they are attached. Just like churches affix crosses to their steeple as a
demonstration of Jesus’ Lordship over them, Nazis fly a Nazi flag over their homes
or sport the emblem as an accessory indicating an allegiance/submission to all
things Nazi.

While the symbols listed do have ties to occult/satanic practices, it is also important
to know that some have been hi-jacked. As Christians it is our obligation to
properly discern the message communicated by various symbols. God would not
have us ignorant to the enemy or his devices (II Cor 2:11).

Symbol Meaning
1 All-seeing eye, eye of Horus: occult followers actually
claim that the story of Christ (immaculate conception) is a
‘rip-off ‘of Horus’ birth.

In Freemasonry (Masonic Temples), this is a key symbol -

a poor imitation meant to represent the all-seeing, all-
knowing God.

Note: In Freemasonry, Masons refer to The Great

Architect. Most assume this to be God. However, the
Masons do not require their members to name the god
they worship. Members are free to worship any god they
choose…including Satan.

Many celebrities pay tribute to Horus by posing with

a pyramid symbol over one eye while the other
remains exposed.
2 Luciferian eye: In occult circles this symbolizes Lucifer.
The diamond pictured below the eye is a tear that is shed
for all those outside of his influence.

3 Pyramid: A key symbol in/or freemasonry and reportedly

the illuminati is the pyramid - specifically when depicted
with the separated capstone. In these circles, the all
seeing eye is thought to refer to a ‘great divide’ among
people. Each level/step of the pyramid represents a socio-
economic class and its influence as well as affluence. The
capstone with the eye then represents the most ‘elite’ and
their self-purported elevation over the rest of mankind.

4 Lightning bolt: Satanic worshippers identify this as ‘777’

famed by Aleister Crowley who wrote the guide to
witchcraft and satanic worship. Crowley so hated God that
he named himself ‘777’ (666 was already taken).
Crowley’s instruction to his followers was that they learn to
speak, write, walk backwards as a means to open
themselves to hear from the demonic realm

5 Alchemy 1: A composition of various geometric shapes

encompassed in a ‘magical’ circle. The shapes allegedly
represent various elements and astrological signs key in
performing magic including attainment of physical training,
spiritual illumination and immortality.

Alchemy 2: The same as Alchemy 1. The inclusion though

of the cross and Bindu (circle with a dot) have
exceptionally strong ties to occult practices. Often because
of its extreme relevance in Christianity, the cross is
included in satanic and occult practices as a point of
mockery.

6 Bindu: Circle with a dot in the center; represents the sun,

Egyptian ‘sun god’ (Ra), an archangel named Kaballah,
emotional restraint and divine consciousness of a universal
god. Those who practice Bindu rituals see themselves as
co-creators (of themselves and the universe) merged with
this universal god and one another. The dot in the circle is
said to represent the merging of female and male power.

Earth-centric cults see the circle as a sacred space. This

representation is also depicted as a serpent eating its own
tail. Worshipped by many earth-centric and pagan cults,
the serpent represented re-birth…primarily because of its
molting (shedding old skin). It is said to also represent the
life force of females.

7 Broken cross/Cross of Nero: Considered by some to be a

peace sign, it is used in satanic circles as an open
demonstration of rejecting Christ. Satan worshippers are
commonly given crosses; instructed to turn the cross
upside down and break the arms to show their disdain for
Christ and loyalty to Satan. This symbol appears on the
graves of some of Hitler’s soldiers.

The upside down cross is also a symbol of

rejecting/mocking Christ.

8 Evil Eye: The evil eye is a curse believed to be cast by a

malevolent glare, usually given to a person when they are
unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye
will cause misfortune or injury. (Wikipedia) The “evil eye”
sold as jewelry, decorations, etc. was created to protect
against the evil eye or evil spirits.

9 Tao/Yin-Yang: ancient Chinese symbol used to convey a

widespread belief in unity, magic, polarity and holism. It
represents monism (all is one) and pantheism (all is God).

Note: This is an exceptionally popular symbol in

tattooing and apparel.
10 Anarchy: Symbol refers to breaking all rules. Satanists
wear the symbol in support of their mantra (‘do what thou
wilst’) which was derived by Aleister Crowley, an occultist.
Note: Jay-Z’s clothing line features a sweatshirt that
reads, “Do as thou wilt.”

The anarchy smbol is often ‘sported’ by Criss Angel-

a magician who is known for levitating among other
dark practices. He is pictured to the left. Notice the “A”
in the background and the flashing of the pyramid hand
symbol.

11 Star and Crescent: Key symbol in Islam. In cultic circles

represents witchcraft and Satan. The moon is in tribute to
the moon goddess Diana. The star represents the ‘son of
the morning’ (lucifer). Witchcraft depicts the symbol as
seen here. Satanists reverse the image.

12 Italian Horn: Also known as Satan’s tooth. This is thought

to be a symbol of good luck by some cults. By others it is
thought to represent that ‘Satan will take care of your
finances.’
13 Ankh: Represents fertility rituals and the build-up of lust.
The opening represents the female productive organ and
the stem, the male’s. The bar represents the (unholy)
union of the two

14 Inverted pentagram: Used in cultic and satanic rituals to

conjure up evil spirits. It is important to note that with ‘2
points up’ this symbol is typically tied to Satanism.

Baphomet: A goat face in an inverted pentagram. This is

specifically tied to satan/demon worship. Unaware of its
ties, many people ‘sport’ a baphomet as part of their
accessories. (Jewelry and belt buckles are most
common.)

15 Satanic ‘s’: Presents as a ‘lightning bolt.’ When kicked

out of Heaven, Lucifer fell to the earth as a lightning bolt.
In satanic circles, this symbol represents ‘the destroyer’.
This ‘s’ has also been used by the Nazi Germany ‘SS’ police
as well as the once popular 70s-80s heavy metal ban, Kiss.

16 Scarab Beetle: Egyptian symbol of reincarnation. Also

considered a symbol of Beelzebub (lord of the flies). Worn
as apparel in satanic worship circles to represent satanic
power and protection.
17 satanic crosses:
A. Cross with upside down question mark: Questions the
deity of God -symbolizes complete power under Lucifer
A B B. Worn by Aleister Crowley (occultist) and Albert Pike
(founder of the masons’ 33rd degree)
C. Upside down cross with pentagram
C
D D. Variation of the alchemical symbol for sulfur, which
represents fire and brimstone. The sulfur symbol was
placed above the nine satanic statements in the
LaVeyan satanic bible.
Note: Anton LaVey is the founder of the Church of
Satan and author of the satanic bible.

If you are in doubt about a symbol, do not use it. You can do an internet search for
occult symbols to see if you find it. As Christians we must be sober. We should not
wear or in any way display symbols that do not glorify God.
