Process writing
Writing is a challenging activity.
Writing can be made easier if you follow a process.
What is process writing?
Process writing is a method of writing using certain steps:
Step 1 : Decide on a topic
You should choose a topic about which
you know something or in which you are
interested.
Step 6 : Editing and writing a
final copy
This is when you check the spelling,
punctuation, sentence structure,
paragraphing and word usage in your
piece of writing. Take into account the
feedback that you received and write a
final copy.
Step 5 : Get feedback
Get feedback from a friend, a teacher
or a parent. Ask for advice on how to
improve you writing.
Step 4 : Reviewing your first
draft
This is when you read your writing back
to yourself. You should now make
decisions about how you want to
improve the piece of writing. Ask
yourself the following questions:
1. Does my writing make sense?
2. Is the information clear?
3. Are my paragraph in the right

Step 2 : Planning and
brainstorming
This is the pre-writing stage. It is
when you generate and gather
your ideas about what you want
to write.You will need to decide
on the purpose of your piece of
writing and the audince that will
read it.
Ask yourself the following
questions:
1. Who will read this piece of
writing?
2. What do I want to achieve
with this piece of writing?
3. Must it inform, entertain,
persuade, argue, explain,
describe, manipulate or tell a
story to my reader.
