Each design iteration included over 3000 time-domain simulations, of up to 12,000 time steps.
The SACS Wind Turbine module performed over 150 simulations in parallel and
6MW Alstom Turbines manage the terabytes of data generated in the analysis.

The jacket design process used SACS to optimize the amount of steel and reduce the installed cost by
over 20% versus traditional monopile construction. The Block Island Wind Farm jackets are 15% lighter
than the previous design used for the same wind turbine in similar water depth in the North Sea.

The SACS functionality to interface with DNVGL's BLADED software, which was used by the Wind Turbine
designers (Alstom) to perform their load simulations, was used to ensure that the models used in both
programs matched.
