Introduction:

Artificial Intelligence is the ability of the machine to perform cognitive functions like human
beings. Functions like learning, thinking, performing a task and problem solving as humans
do. Computers are fed with software programs to perform the given set of activities. These
software are not just to complete a set of instruction but are also to learn from the data and
adapt to the patterns and behaviour of the user.

AI camera is driven by the similar kind of software at the backend with simple cameras to
capture images and videos. There are different kinds of technology that is trying to replicate
what humans do, such as converting voice into test, computer vision, image recognition,
machine learning, etc.

Professional photographers do understand the factors that influence the quality of picture.
There are a lot of areas to be controlled while taking a picture like shutter speed, exposure,
colour depth, image processing, saturation, contrast, dynamic range, etc. And therefore AI
cameras come into picture.

One type of AI camera is such that they are programmed in a way that they are capable of
doing the adjustment automatically based on the condition and are able to give deliver
results. An image is shot on the surface and a lot more advance adjustment are being done
at the backend to bring out cool effects as per the requirement of the business.

AI in camera technology have applications in the following domain:

1. A type of digital cameras known as internet protocol cameras that are used to send
and receive high resolution images that can be viewed remotely.
2. AI technology along with CCTV which help in detecting the spatial and temporal
events.
3. AI used in surveillance systems where they are bound by certain rules of the agency.
4. AI based cameras are also used in diagnosis and predicting the stages of medical
ailment.

Limitations of AI in camera tech:

 One of the biggest limitation is because of the data that is been fed to the system.
Any kind of fault in the data will directly influence the results obtained. Human type
learning is difficult to get.

 Artificial intelligence based applications that are made to analyse live videos for face
recognition are very helpful for police and public safety. They are helping in spotting
accidents and crimes. At the same time this is raising a serious problem of privacy in
future.

 Another key roadblock to AI adoption is the skills shortage and the availability of
technical staff with the experience and training necessary to effectively deploy and
operate AI solutions. Research suggests experienced data scientists are in short
supply as are other specialised data professionals skilled in machine learning,
training good models, etc.

 Cost is another key consideration with procuring AI technologies. As this is upcoming

technology, there is no clear benchmark of the cost that is required for repair and
maintenance of the software. It is require that the software is kept updated in order
to take care of the fast changing business requirement. Before implementing any
kind of business plan, one has to be careful about the return on investment before
giving green signal.

 Sometimes it takes a lot of time for the things to get implemented because of high
process time. There also lies a challenge in understanding of the state-of-the-art
technology and its interoperability and usability with different platforms.
