Exercise No.

1a

Observation:

After we got a disturbed sample, we stored it in a air-tight condition

and secured from moisture, after it we labelled it.

Conclusion:

The storage of simple must be property stored labelled and should be

not exposed from air and free from moisture.
Exercise No. 1b

Observation:

After we get the Disturbed sample, the soil sample was broken down to
smaller pieces by using the rubber mallet

Conclusion:

Therefore I conclude that the soil should be broken down into smaller
pieces.
Exercises No. 1c

Observation:

After removing the paraffin coating(wax) the sample was cut to given
measure by using the calipher.

Conclusion:

The soil should be carried correctly, so the sample remains

undisturbed. The most important, you should not compress the sample.
Exercise No. 2

Observation:

After breaking the sample by using your hands, the soil was passed to a
series at sieve and the amount at soil is recorded in each sieve.

Conclusion:

Therefore I conclude that the samples at test in sieve analysis and

acrometer test must be performed by sequence in order to determined
the size as soil grams present.
Exercise No. 3

Observation:

The sample that we prepared must be weighted before one being oven
dried the weight measured will be used in Determining the water
content and determining the unit weight and the sample must be
coated with wax and immersed in water to determine the displaced
water and record it.

Conclusion:

The data recorded from the test is to obtain the water content and unit
weight. The tow values is required in future test.
Exercise No.4

Observation:

The sample in determining the liquid limit is being place i the liquid
limit device the sample is showed in the middle. And then revolt the
sample until two sides come in context. In determining the plastic limit
make another sample then shaped into a ball then record the sample
in a piece of glass and break the threat crumble and can no longer roll
to the thread.

Conclusion:

Therefore in determining the liquid limit you must have the accurate
sample and water content mixed so that the executed laboratory
exercise must contained its perfect feature.
Exercise no.5

Observation:

In bottle calibration the pycnometer filled with the water dried. The
bottle from the outside then beat up the bottle by placing it in warm
water bath then remove some water to bring the meniscus down to
the calibration mark.

Conclusion:

Therefore I conclude that the cohesion of soil must be put on oven so

that it will dried up. To show its moisture content
Exercise No. 6

Observation:

I observed that to achieve the compatibility of the soil the mold shall
form a 2-8 inch layer passing to sieve.

Conclusion:

the soil must be pressed and compacted in a cylinder, after that the
soil must be removed from the cylinder to obtained representative
sample of 100grams for a watch determination.
Exercise No. 7

Observation:

The density is the highlight of this exercise, I observed after

determining the density of soil and the compacted sand.

Conclusion:

Therefore I conclude that the sand itself must flow on the funnel
smoothly so that the compaction of the sand will be accurately .
