Important notes on reports and dashboards:

 Folder sharing in lightning is only available by subscribing to a report.

 Folders created in salesforce classic inherit all assigned permissions when folders are viewed in
lightning
 Conditional formatting doesn’t display on reports in Lightning Experience, only in Classic. Spring
19 release allows us to add 5 formatting rules in lightning.
 We can’t schedule dashboards in Lightning Experience.
 We can subscribe to dashboards in Lightning

Salesforce Spring 19 release

 Quickly Focus on Relevant Data with Conditional Formatting (Beta):

If you loved applying conditional formatting to reports in Salesforce Classic, you’ll love it more in
Lightning Experience. For more precision, you can now apply up to five formatting rules to a
report in a Lightning Experience. And, you can define up to three bins for each rule you apply.
Setting the color for each bin is faster, and you also get to customize colors. Conditional
formatting is only available in summary or matrix report.
 Grant Access to Report and Dashboard Folders by Territory:

You can also share report folders, dashboard folders by territory.

 Filter Reports by Inactive Picklist Values

Filtering a report by picklist values is helpful when you want to focus on a specific product
family, opportunity stage, or area of the business. Previously, you could filter reports on active
picklist values only. Now you can filter by picklist values that are marked inactive as well.

 Gather Insights Faster with Stacked Summaries

You created those complex—but awesome – matrix reports so you could summarize large
volumes of data and compare values in different fields. But the summarized metrics that you
wish to compare are not always conveniently located next to each other. For a more viewer-
friendly version of the report involves less scrolling, view the report with Stacked Summaries
option enabled.
 Subscribe to Reports and Dashboards by Group or Role

Now you can add subscribers to report sand dashboards based on Public Group or Role. A group
subscription keeps your subscriber list current even when people join or leave the group. A role-
based subscription keeps your subscriber list current even when people change roles.
 Add Two Groups to Lightning Tables:

Lightning tables (In dashboard) now support two groups. Previously, you could have only one.

For example, this dashboard shows Accounts grouped by Site and Source.

 Joined Reports Arrive in Lightning Experience

With up to five blocks, joined reports let you view different types of information in a single
report. Each block shows data from one standard or custom report type. You can turn any
report into a joined report by clicking Report | Joined Report | Apply.
Now that Lightning joined reports are generally available, these actions are supported.

1. Create joined reports

2. Convert existing unjoined reports into joined reports

3. Rename blocks

4. Reorder blocks

5. Change principal report type (the report type of the first block in a Lightning joined report is
always the principal report type)

6. Adding and editing summary formulas and cross-block summary formulas

7. Chatter feeds

Lightning joined reports don't support these features.

1. Subscriptions

2. Export

3. Open in Quip

4. Conditional formatting

5. Currency picklist selector

6. Trend report data in Einstein Analytics

 View Historical Tracking Reports in Lightning Experience

Why: Prior to this release, you could view historical tracking reports that were in matrix format
in Lightning Experience. Now you can view all supported formats (tabular and matrix).

How: Now, when you click on a tabular historical tracking report from the Lightning Experience
Reports page, the report runs and is displayed. For tracked fields, the Show Changes and Format
Changes options are available for viewing the changes between the historical value(s) and the
current value.

 Create Custom Reports for Net Promoter Score®, Ranking, Rating, Scoring, and Slider Question
Types

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Professional,
Enterprise, Developer, and Unlimited editions where Salesforce Surveys is enabled.

Who: Admins can create and view custom reports about survey responses. Survey owners and
survey invitation owners can create custom reports for surveys or invitations that they own.
Admins, survey owners, and survey invitation owners can share their custom reports with
others.

 Show More Data with 12-Column Dashboards

12-column dashboards give you even more control over data layout, but you can still make 9-
column dashboards if you want. 12-columns or 9, dashboards created this release have rows
that are half as tall as dashboards created previously. Previously created dashboards retain their
original row height.

 Create Reports on Topics and the Posts That Use Them

You can now report on posts and comments with a particular topic and see the post and
comment content and other details. Create a custom report type with topic assignments as the
primary object, and feed posts as the secondary object. You can also include feed comments as
a third object. Previously, you could create reports that gathered the records, including posts,
that included a particular topic. However, you couldn’t view the content of the posts.

 Clone a Dashboard with Save As

To match reports, the Clone option dashboards is now labeled Save As. The functionality
remains the same.

 Add Another Date to dashboard:

We renamed the filter option Add More Date to Add Another Date. The previous label snuck
past our grammar checkers. The functionality remains the same.
 Reorder Dashboard Filter Values with Drag-and-Drop
You can drag dashboard filter values in the order you want them. Previously, you had to delete
the filter values and then add them again in the desired order.
 “Whole Number” Relabeled “Full Number” in dashboard

We’ve changed the Display Units option to display a complete number from “Whole Number”
to “Full Number.” Now that you can set decimal precision, “whole number” could be confused
for “round to the nearest integer,” which is not what the option does. (To round decimals to the
nearest integer, set Decimal Places to “0.”

 People with SalesforcePlatform User Licences Can View More Dashboards

People with a SalesforcePlatform, SalesforcePlatformOne, or SalesforcePlatformLight user

license can now view more dashboards. Previously, they could only view dashboards as people
who had the same user license. Now they can view dashboards as people with other user license
types, too.

 Link to Pages in Different Dashboards

Where: This change applies to Einstein Analytics in Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic.
Einstein Analytics is available in Developer Edition and for an extra cost in Enterprise,
Performance, and Unlimited editions.

How: To link to a page in another dashboard, select the destination dashboard, select Specify
Page, and then select the page. The Specify Page option appears only for dashboards that
contain multiple pages.
