Over-torquing of fasteners can cause distortion of roong proles and thus make proper overlapping impossible.
Under-torquing of fasteners can cause leaks and undue wear on the sheet of steel.
It is also advisable to pre-drill the metal sheets prior to fastening for both roof and wall applications.
Estimating Tip
As a general rule for estimating purposes, a minimum of 85 neoprene washer head screws are sucient for the
application of one square (100 square feet) of a Vicwest roof.
IMPORTANT: Based on the recommendation of our suppliers, all fasteners exposed to the new
preservative formulations in pressure treated lumber must be stainless steel

This versatile and portable TurboShear fits a drill you already own to make easy cross cuts, fast lengthwise cuts,
even circles and square outlet cuts, in large or small pattern corrugated metal roofing and most other non-
standing-seam metal roofing and building panels including trapezoidal box patterns.
Cutting capacity is rated for 30 to 24-Ga. (0.31 – 0.61 mm) metal roofing, stone coated metal roofing, including
layered seams. Long lasting blades are also easily replaceable.

Installation Tips & Hints
#1 Screws must be loose enough to allow sheet to move. Drill sheet and back board or stud proper size for rivet;
then re-drill sheet hole 1/8” larger to allow for expansion and contraction
#2 Sheets should be installed at normal ambient termperatures to allow for expansion and contraction.
#3 Fasten 12” on centres
#4 Never fasten directly to drywall or paneling. This material is not strong enough to support the PLASTI-VIC due
to thermal expansion or contraction. Look for and fasten to the stud supporting the drywall
#5 If using a sealant always use rivets or screws on sheets 1/4” or less
#6 Recommended sealant is SICA 11FC
#7 Surface of sheet to be glued must be lightly torched to remove surface oils prior to application of adhesive.

Vicwest’s 650 lbs. capacity round track will provide years of smooth, easy gliding operation. The self- cleaning
design and corrosion-resistant 14 ga. galvanized construction features are available in 3 track styles:
1) slotted with a full keyway
2) factory-mounted brackets for top mounting
Slots or brackets are positioned on the track 12” from the end at 24” centres. In addition to offering track sections
with factory- mounted brackets; the slot mounted track has been engineered to give the keyway slots two-way
movement options, allowing for easy “knock-on” application in the field. Knock all the brackets in the same direc-
tion (left or right) except the last bracket, where the direction is reversed to make a positive lock.
