HISTORY

On June 16, 1978, Mario Siton of the university of Visayas, Jose Juban of
Cebu Central College, Godofredo Piandong of Colegio de San Jose Reculetos and
Elves Areliano of Cebu Arts and trade organize and founded the organization named
DELTA SIGMA- LAMBDA KAPPA fraternity and sorority in Cebu City.
These four people who came from different schools have a common fraternity
and sorority before named Delta Phi Omega which was organize by Ricky Cortes and
Edwin Perez both from Colegio de San Jose Reculetos. Due to lack of unity among
members, these organizations broke-up and these four guys mentioned decided to
organize a certain organization that promotes social, spiritual, moral, physical and
intellectual welfare of any students and thus this DELTA SIGMA- LAMBDA
KAPPA IS BORN.
This fraternity and sorority directly spread up into universities and college in
Cebu namely University of Visayas, Cebu central College, and Colegio de San Jose
Reculetos, Cebu school of Arts and Trade, South Western University of Santo
Thomas.
The highest law making body of the DELTA SIGME- LAMBDA KAPPA
shall be known as the Supreme Council composed of all officers elected by the body
from seven chapters.

PLEDGE OF LOYALTY
On my honor, I do solemnly pledge my love and loyalty to Delta Sigma-
Lambda Kappa now and forever. I shall do my very best to in high veneration her
good names and maintain the sub tint of ignominy of this organization, which shall
stand as a symbol of faith to keep and vow to fulfill.

We, the members of DELTA SIGMA- LAMBDA KAPPA imploring the aid of
Divine Providence in order to establish a strong united body, genuine friendship,
brotherhood and sisterhood among the students, promotes mutual respect and
understanding, more courage, interest and ability of leadership under the regime of
justice, liberty and equality, behold and promulgate this constitution.

INTRODUCTION
A. DEFINITION OF FRATERNITY AND SOROSIRT
FRATERNITY- is an organization of male college student bound together by
common objectives and purpose enjoying subjective sentiment of unity and
brotherhood, independent of external control and processing a definite sentiment
whose limit is maintain by law of Philippine constitution.
SORORITY- is an organization of female college students resulting from common
affinities destined to be permanent independent of external control and enjoying a
subjective sentiment of unity and sisterhood of its kind.

C. The fraternity/ sorority is a part of social civic organization for it has the
following elements:
1. Population- mass of college students studying from the different
Universities and Colleges including those graduated their own courses.
 2. Territory- It includes not only the Universities and Colleges over which the
member exercise has given the rights but also to all Universities and Colleges in
which the fraternity and sorority exist.

ARTICLE II
NAMES, IDENTITIES AND LOCATION
SEC. 1. The name of the fraternity/ sorority shall be known as DELTA SIGMA-
LAMBDA KAPPA.
SEC. 2. The mother chapter of the organization will be the University of Visayas.
SEC. 3. The headquarters shall be known as “SIGMANIANS” quarter.
SEC. 4. The motto, color, password and the meanings.

ARTICLE III
OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES
SEC. 1. THE DELTA SIGMA- LAMBDA KAPPA IS ORGANIZED TO:
1. Establish a strong unity, genuine friendship, brotherhood and sisterhood
among students from different Universities and Colleges.
2. Enable the member to engage in admirable work project and activities.
3. Encourage the students to involve themselves from the schoolactivities and
economics in our colleges and Universities.
4. Render service to the community.
5. Cultivate and promote the physical and mental talents of the youth.
6. Train the youth to become a leader tomorrow.
7. Enlightened in their minds that failure and sacrifices are the goals of
success.
8. Preserve the honorable reputation, glories and tradition.
