Plant a tree to save the world

WILF: An information text containing facts, with a “hook” introduction, body and conclusion.

We are destroying 325,900 hectares a year over the whole of Australia. This means that many
creatures are becoming extinct because the trees that they live on are getting destroyed.

We are destroying too meany trees and not planting enough trees. This is increasing the amount of
carbon dioxide because the trees take the carbon dioxide out of the air. 296,000* hectares per year
are destroyed in Queensland alone!. This is a lot of trees which means that the carbon dioxide is not
getting pulled out of the air.

One solution for this problem is that we could use computers and other devices to do work instead
of using paper. One thing we could do that will save paper is we could print and photograph on both
sides of the paper. This uses less paper which means that we are destroying less trees.

One thing that we could do in our daly lives is that we could use iPads and computers instead of
paper. This will save our trees. If you want to get mor information go to the Year4 sustainability
website.
