Rationale:

I have chosen to work on primarily animation, that is to say,

all the work I do during this project, and potentially for the
entirety of year 2, will have an element of animation to it.
However, I have chosen to do a 1-2 minute long animated short
as well as a section of a music video, given how long it will
take me to animate each project using primarily hand-drawn
animations.
It will be aimed at 25 to 40-year-olds and thus will challenge
me to produce a piece of work suitable for this age group, as
in something they can relate to and actually enjoy.
I have chosen animation because it is a field I want to work
in, in the future and I will try to produce something to the
best of my ability in order to add it to my work portfolio.
I spent the entirety of year one learning how to convey and
show a highly detailed story in a short amount of time, I have
also done hand-drawn animations previously and I know what
they should look like.

Concept:
I will use my creativity to make a story that’ll work and ‘hit
home’ with the audience. The animation will have to remind
them of things they may have experienced. I will have to
advance my knowledge of what that age group likes. I will use
music to add to the emotions as well as sounds. As I primarily
use Krita to create my comic I will utilise it’s animation
feature to create my animations.

Evaluation:
I will make use of weekly blogs and
also make use of the fact that I am
within this age range, primarily my
use of the fact that I have friends
ask them for feedback and things to
teacher feedback. I will
related to many people
cousins. I will also make
in this age group so I can
improve on my work.

My Ideas are:
‘Come As You Are’ - Nirvana:
‘Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach’ - we see a teen playing
rugby, covered in mud and with bleach blonde hair. She stops
for a photo with her friends.
‘As I want you to be’ - Split screen, them older as a
businessman and a teen. Older her has black hair cut short
with a business suit and looks like the ultimate opposite to
young her.
‘As a trend, as a friend.’ - Split screen, teen them and 20yr
old them being ‘trendy’ but following typically male trends.
‘As an old’ - Fade into them as an older person (mid-30s) they
show regret for where they are now and they fade back to being
young.

‘Killer I.P’ - A short in which a new person logs in to a

website which is actually a network of serial killers looking
for a new victim to hunt. It starts with the screen switching
on to reveal the m.c has ‘1 new message’ on their email. They
open it, the message provides a link to a website and a login,
they click on it and go to the website. They log in and the
screen flashes with new messages from serial killers talking
about the name and number of recent kills. The m.c types in a
message, we pull out to see bloodied hands at the keyboard. We
hear sirens in the distance, the computer is shot and the m.c
flees the scene.
