I.INTRODUCTION
Increasing population and industrialization would also mean more wastes in the
environment. More waste, more diseases. But then, there would also be a positive effect of
increasing population, we could also help each other. Hand in hand for a better, cleaner and
greener environment for us people to stay and live with.
Waste segregation is important to our environment. It is segregating the bio-degradable
from non-biodegradable. It helps our environment to look cleaner and greener.
The project seeks to obtain alertness proper waste segregation with the youth who will be
concerning about the development of their barangay. The project tend to have a seminar about
the proper waste segregation into any barangay in order to have a clean and greaen barangay
The Clean and Greeen Association has been engaged inbto seminar and training project
for 2 years, this project was brought to six different barangays that will help a lot of each
barangay when it comes to proper waste segregation.
2. Rationale
Integrated Solid Waste Management is a responsibility of each and every individual, as it
benefits all as a part of the society and the environment. Also, it is practically not possible to do
it without the community participation, along with government and corporates. We need to focus
on a strategy for managing this issue by developing industry wise models, as industries differ in
the type, situation and resources for the waste and its management. Like, my focus is on
hospitality sector which is a major contributor of organic waste in the landfill besides the
household.
Youth, now a days does not recognize the importance of anything they don’t realize that
some of their waste can still be used on anything. Youth do not know how to segregate garbage
and do not have any idea how to bring and put their garbage to an appropriate container or trash
bin. The focused in this seminar is proper waste segregation and how to lessen the waste in our
environment without causing any problem.
This project is really important in terms of maintaining the cleanliness of Barangay 95
Caibaan Tacloban City. The people in the barangay will learn the significance of proper
segregation and recycling while the Barangay Captain will understand the importance of
discipilining the people in their barangay when it comes to waste management. This study may
also benefit the other barangays in maintaining and proper segregation of their waste. This
research aims to help the future researchers in their study of waste management. Therefore, with
this seminar and training project, the youth could benefit for them to have awareness when it
comes to proper waste segregation. And also, the proponent can also benefit from the youth in a
way of teaching them . The proponents would have an idea of how to teach the youth when the
time that they were going to conduct a seminar or training again.
3. GOAL, OBJECTIVE AND OUTCOMES
The goal of the Clean and Green Association is to help and guide the youth of proper
waste segregation, and also to have a better solution that could be done with the problem of
waste management. This project aims to understand that we should take good care of our
environment and the youth would learn to cherish the beauteous environment that the youth
have.
OBJECTIVES OUTCOMES
To protect the health and wellbeing of The youth will be aware that this
people by providing an affordable project will let them have a good
waste collection service. health.
Increase reuse and recycling rates of The youth would know how their waste
products can be used again.
The Clean and Green Association seminar and training project about Awareness of Youth
about proper Waste Segregation consumed 4 years in time with a total estimated budget of
300,00 in which 40% of it was financed by the Non-Government Organization and 60% was
financed by other organizations. This activity will consumed 30% of the said budget, excluding
the payment to the other staffs with the catering services and other equipments that will be used
with this project.

Background of the Study
Proper waste segregation deals with the ight waste management, this seminar and training
project focuses on the problem of students in managing waste, and segregating garbage from
biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recycle waste.
Students, now a days does not recognize the importance of anything they don’t realize
that some of their waste can still be used on anything. Students do not know how to segregate
garbage and do not have any idea how to bring and put their garbage to an appropriate container
or trash bin. The focused in this seminar is proper waste segregation and how to lessen the waste
in our environment without causing any problem.
This project is really important in terms of maintaining the cleanliness of Sagkahan
Natinal High School Senior High School. The students in the school will learn the significance of
proper segregation and recycling while the Senior High Coordinator will understand the
importance of discipilining the people in their schools when it comes to waste management. This
study may also benefit the other schools in maintaining and proper segregation of their waste.
This research aims to help the future researchers in their study of waste management. Therefore,
with this seminar and training project, the students could benefit for them to have awareness
when it comes to proper waste segregation. And also, the proponent can also benefit from the
youth in a way of teaching them . The proponents would have an idea of how to teach the
students when the time that they were going to conduct a seminar or training again.
The management of waste become complex and the facilities provided cannot
cope with the increasing demand and needs. Therefore, best approach need to be
implemented immediately while considering environmental, social and economic
aspects (Aye & Widjaya, 2006). The drivers of sustainable waste management were
clarified by Agamuthu et al. (2009), which include human, economic, institutional and
environment aspect. The study suggests that each driving group should be considered
in local context as managing solid waste for a particular society may differ from the
others. 11 For example, waste managers in Africa need to tackle some issues including,
lack of data, insignificant financial resources, vast different of amount and waste types
between urban and rural area, lack of technical and human resources, low level of
awareness and cultural aversion towards waste (Couth & Trois, 2010). On the other
hand, problems faced among Asian countries differ with two distinct groups; developed
and developing countries. While some of the countries are having specific national
policy on solid waste management, some others experience problems such as
increasing urban population, scarcity of land, services coverage area, inadequate
resources and technology, and so on (Shekdar, 2009).
