Physician and a graduate in the field of Homeopathy, Dr. Santhosh Babu B.H.M.S. is a consultant and both
of them run the department efficiently.
Yoga and Naturopathy department
Gurus from India introduced yoga to the west, following the success of Swami Vivekananda in the late 19th
and early 20th century. In the 1980s, yoga became popular as a system of physical exercise across the
Western world. This form of yoga is often called Hatha yoga.

Physiotherapy can be used either directly or in association with other systems of treatment.
Our Chennai Heritage Hospital has designed a special package, which may be required in order to re-
educate an individual to enable them to safely return to their normal life with the help of
physiotherapeutic applications, herbal medicines and Ayurvedic and Siddha method of lifestyle. It aims
at maximizing the functional potential of an individual following a disease/dysfunction or injury.
Our physiotherapy team work in close conjunction with members of the Siddha and Ayurvedic team
to maximize the potential of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, osteo-arthritis, frozen shoulder,
tennis elbow, cervical spondylitis, spondylosis of cervical or lumbar region etc. The therapy usually involves
functionally mobilizing the patients, orthopedic trauma cases and patients of other conditions causing
disability on account of muscular and bony problems. The therapy is aimed at preventing and minimizing
the extent of disability.
Most people at some time or other suffer from back or neck pain, disability on account of knee painor
multiple joint pains (Polyarthralgia). Many common injuries like bruises, ligament sprains and tears,
muscles and tendon strains, joint injuries, overuse injuries during sports and stress fractures etc are
prevented and treated by our physiotherapy team. Our team of Physiotherapy aims to not only treat the
pain and other symptoms, but also to help identify the causes and provide self-management strategies.

Need to get admitted:
Many of the diseases are frequently treated at OPD level where the patient is often prescribed certain
medications and given instructions based on which he can continue the medications and review the doctor
after a certain period (say about 2 weeks to 1 month). However chronic diseases need a physician’s
intervention frequently, moreover both internal as well as external therapies aid to overcome the disease
pathology and help to come out from the signs and symptoms quickly. More over detoxification is possible
only in inpatient unit which needs meticulous treatment plan and physician’s care. Hence it becomes
necessary to get admitted and get treated is such cases.
Registration & Admissions:
On the day of admission, patients are requested to bring all medical records, previous lab investigation
reports, prescriptions, discharge summary and other relevant documents.
Reservation can be made in person at our reception counter or over phone (044-43313242) or by E-mail
(contactus@chennaiheritagehospital.com). Only patients with genuine ailments are admitted. Minimum
period of stay is for 15 days. At the time of booking the patients details are noted in the reservation
register and the requirement date ascertained. Booking should preferably be made two months in
advance.
Admissions are open on all days.Time of admission is before 3p.m and time of discharge is from 10 a.m. to
12 noon on all days.Patients are requested to provide their full address, phone number contact number,
local relatives/friends address in the office on admission.
Accommodation Facilities:
A wide range of accommodation facilities with varying rates are available. Foradmissions contact the
Manager In charge at the Front Office for useful details. TheHospital has Standard Rooms, Deluxe Rooms,
and General Ward (Male and Females separately).
Admission to this accommodations and transfer from there if necessary will be at the solediscretion of the
Medical Director. The right of admission to this hospital and visiting arevested with the management.

Medical Records Number and Personal details:
The Hospital provides a unique medical Record Number to each patient at the time
ofadmission, which is shown on small bar-coded card issued to you. Please preserve itcarefully
for future correspondence and easy retrieval of Medical records. Please ensurethat your name
and personal particulars are entered correctly in the hospital records. Allmedical records are
the property of the hospital.
Duration of stay and type of treatment:
Type of treatment needed,will be decided only after thorough investigation and examinations
by the physician.All treatments at the hospital normally take 15 to30 days depending on the
severity and nature of the disease. The doctor deserves the right to decide the period of the
treatment.On the first day itself the patients are requested to have a thorough discussion about
expenditure regarding food, accommodation, physiotherapy and total bill etc.
Therapies like Panchakarma which includes therapeutic vomiting, therapeutic purgation, Nasal
Drops, Administration of Enema, Blood letting therapies and other Purvakarma (pre operative
procedures) like Patrapotalasvedam, Jambeerapindasvedam, Navarakizhi, Shirodhara,
Bandaging, Physiotherapy and Varma massage of the siddha traditionare done with in-depth
understanding of Tridoshic and Panchamahabhuta theory with experienced personals.Male
masseurs will do massage for male and female messeurs will do massage for female
patients.Panchakarma will not be done for women during their menstrual periods time (as
menstrual cycle is itself considered to be a way of natural purification).Procedures like oil
massage and Nasya are not done during heavy rain.
Visiting Hours:
The hospital allows the visitors to visit the In-patients between 4pm and 7pm on all days.
Bystanders:
One bystander is permitted to stay along with the patient in private rooms. Loud voices,
occupying walking spaces, creating car parkingproblems are to be avoided by the bystanders /
visitors. Movements are restricted after9.00 PM inside the Hospital. Visitors, bystanders and
childrenaccompanying them should restrict their movements during medical team on their
rounds.
Gate Pass:
Bystanders have to show their Passes at the entrance gates during their movements apartfrom
the visitor’s hours.
Housekeeping:
Hospital housekeeping staffs are trained to keep the premises clean. Please co-operatewith the
hospital staff in keeping its premises neat and tidy. Requests for special cleaning may be
addressed to the House keeping supervisor calling on you. Smoking andconsumption of
alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited inside the Hospital premises.Severe actions will be
initiated against anybody violating these norms. Dispose theunwanted articles in waste bins
placed in your room and around.
Communication:
The Hospital has EPABX network connected to all the rooms. Wifi Internetconnection to rooms
will be given on request at the time of admission. Use ofCell phones in the corridors and
common areas are restricted.
Insurance:
Mediclaim Insurance Policy in India for Ayurvedic treatment varies from one Insurancecompany
to another company. Hospital provides all necessary records to the patients inthis regard.
However hospital does not take the responsibility for getting the insuranceamount for the
patients.
Payments:
Approximate expenditure for three weeks will be around Rs. 45000+/- (Treatment charges,
medicines, doctor fee and 1 month take home medicines). Room charges not included.Car, Taxi
charges, Lab investigations charges are extra.All bills should be settled by the patient directly by
cash or DD. All Major Credit cardsare accepted. Foreign currency exchange facility is available.
Please collect cash receiptagainst each payment / deposit. Patients are required to make
enough cash advance at thetime of admission. Subsequently the patient will be required to
make advanced depositsevery week depending upon the requirements. All deposits are
adjusted against your Final Bill at thetime of discharge.
Pharmacy:
The Hospital has a well-stocked medicines manufactured by the leading companies of Ayurveda
and Siddha.The hospital also has an integral medicine manufacturing unit, equipped to prepare
instant special preparationsbased on Physician’s prescription. Medicines supplied to the
patients are billed andaccounted as credit and the same will be adjusted with the final bill
against the deposits.Partially used medicines are not eligible for refunds. Medicines prepared
by our hospital are not sold outside the hospital.
Clinical Lab:
The Hospital has partnered with city’s best laboratory – The Medall Group of Laboratories. A
fully furnished quality clinical lab under Medall is functioning in the hospital premises.The lab
has both pathology and biochemistry divisions. The lab also has ECG facilities. All the higher
investigations are referred to the nearest Medall Point – Vadapalani with pickup and drop
facilities
Dietary Services:
Hospital provides diet food for the patients as per the instructions of the treatingphysicians and
qualified dietician. Dining room and room service facilities are available.Less spicy, less oily,
vegetarian diet is served. For bystanders normal vegetarian food is available in the dining hall.
Food orders aretaken well in advance. The dietary department functions daily from 6.30 am to
8.00 pm
Religious Services:
A Temple for Lord Vignesha - Lord Dhanwanthari (God of Ayurveda)is located in the premises of
theHospital. Regular poojas, homam are performed.
Medical Team:
The medical team of the hospital comprises of the Medical directors Dr. A. Ramalingam and Dr.
R. Sivakumar. They are supported by 10 dedicated expertmedical faculties, 10 well qualified,
trained & experienced therapeutic staff, nursing assistants and well trained medicine
dispensing personnel. Periodical visits of Allopathic doctors for expert opinion is also a routine.
Other Services:
Laundry:
Laundry facilities are outsourced. Any clothes to be washed can be informed to the reception
and the laundry official will pick them up from your room and will be delivered back to you the
next working day.
Entertainment:
Television & other facilities: Standard rooms and deluxe rooms have television facility with
cableattached featuring many popular channels. A common TV is placed in wards.Usage of
these facilities should notcause disturbance to the patients in the neighbouring rooms. Usually
one hour viewing in the morning and in the evening is advocated. Kindly obtain
priorpermission for usage of any other electrical and electronic gadgets.
Safety Measures:
For 24 hours security vigilance of this campus, sufficient numbers of security personnelare
deployed. CCTV cameras are fixed in important locations and are continuously monitored. Safe
Locker facility is available with the Accounts Department. Thehospital will not be responsible
for valuables found missing from your custody. Kindlyavoid bringing valuables and jewels to the
hospital. Do not entertain stringers. Movementof suspicious personnel should be brought to
the notice of security personnel immediately.
Water and Electricity conservation
The hospital is environment friendly, no incandescent bulbs are used, CFL and LED luminaries
are maximum used to conserve energy. The hospital is fitted with 5 star rated air conditioners
to conserve energy and holds a solar heater connected to bath rooms. Rain water harvesting is
executed at our building. Patients in their own interest are requested to conserve water and
electricity.
Damages:
Damages caused to the Hospital by the patients / By-standers / visitors will have to be
compensated by the concerned persons.
Out Patients Departments:
Hospital Out Patient Department functions from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm on all days.Advance
reservation for consulting all physicians on their available days can be made bypersonal contact
or thru telephone. Kindly contacts Out Patient Department Receptioncounter. Specialised care
offered for Ano-Rectal disorders, Eye problems, Gynaecological and Obstetrics complaints thru
speciality clinics.
Patient Discharge
Patients are requested to inform the duty doctors the probable time of departure on the day
after being approved by the Medical Consultant. Patients are advised to collect their discharge
summaries from duty doctor before leaving the hospital.
