 Dear parishioners and visitors,
Twice per fiscal year I go away on vacation usually to
visit family or friends. I will be leaving this Sunday,
Sept. 22nd and return Friday, Oct. 4th. I tell you so that
you know that I will be gone. Some like to know where
I will be going so I tell you generally that I will be visit-
ing friends in Virginia. My mode of transportation is
to take the train. I love it because I make it part of my
vacation. I have always loved the train. It isn’t because
I can’t take the plane but I don’t know if I can fit in the
seats, and I need leg room. I haven’t flown since 1994.
One of my bucket-items is to cover every mile that
Amtrak travels. Hopefully with this vacation, I will cov-
er the last long-distant route which I had to change
plans several years ago due to track repair. If I cover all
the intended routes of this and the next trip in February
to visit family, there should only be @ 80 miles left
which I hope to complete the winter of 2021. I hope
that when I complete that bucket-item that I won’t kick
the bucket right after it!

The Parish Council of Catholic Women will be having a
rummage sale in October. We are looking for donations
of clean, gently used winter items such as clothing, boots,
coats, mittens, blankets, sleeping bags etc. We can also
accept holiday items, home decor, jewelry, cookware,
books, toys, and small tools. We cannot accept furniture,
TVs, computer items, printers, space heaters and exercise
equipment. Drop off your items at St. John's School back
parking lot door Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING
OF THE SICK
Msgr. Stoetzel will confer the sacrament of the
anointing of the sick on Tuesday, October 15th at
the 8:15 AM Mass. This sacrament is given to
those Catholics who have major illnesses, prepar-
ing for major surgery, aging, or dying. This will
be during the Mass with the school children so
they can pray and see the sacrament which many
people do not.

Anniversary on September 27th. May God
continue to bless them.
